Believe me I was skeptical like you but buy a real short shifter. I tried the ssp, Cobb sts and e4p sts, none of those compare to the twm full replacement

That paired with new synthetic trans fluid, lighter counter weight and shift knob makes the car shift completely different. I got the Cobb knob and I thought the light weight would be an issue but it's actually perfect

I bought the full replacement for my pu. It's unbelievable. The review was perfect. I have a buddy with the stock shifter in and after I got my twm full installed we compared. He was blown away how short the shifts were. I absolutely love it. Shifts are smooth as butter with a heavy knob. I have the ags from sure. With the sure shift plate and counter weight. Unbelievable Combo for city driving every shift feels solid. The price tag is high but I got what I paid for. I'm in love with it. It's weird driving a car with a normal throw now because I feel like I'm moving a mile for every gear.

First of all, appreciate the thorough review of the TWM - I am seriously considering this sts. Can anyone give a comparison between the TWM sts to the Cobb sts though? Also, I'm trying to decide if the ssp is worth it or just the sts. I am coming from 100% stock and plan to just keep it a daily driver. No matter what sts I get, I plan to get the bushings at least.

We want to see more of you rocking TWM knobs! Check out our website for a selection of QUALITY knobs finished in ULTRA-HIGH resistance DLC (Diamond-like coating). The coating is actually HARDER than the stainless steel used for the knobs!

I've had Cobb double sts for 3 years and switched to TWM+shift adapter about a week ago.
Cobb was nice, but general vagueness of stock assemble kills it and it's getting worse with time. TWM is a lot more precise, but you'll sure need heavier knob - shifts are too knotty with stock one.
If you can afford TWM - go with it. It's ultimate upgrade for shifter and no other compromises will give you same precision of performance.

So far I have only two minor complains about TWM:
- reverse spring should be stronger. Cobb got it right.
- instead of nylon friction plate, steel should be used. I suspect that frequent switching to reverse will eat into nylon eventually.

Great! Thanks for the comparison! Does the heavier shift knob just help with the feeling of having a solid shift between gears?

Heavier knob has more inertia and moves through the knotty point more smoothly. Otherwise TWM is as solid as you can get.

And to save you from frustration when installing cable locks... TWM locks have different angle than stock unit. It's not easy to do it just by hand (I couldn't), so I knock them in with small mallet hit on the lock BEHIND the assemble (closer to engine side). Hitting them right on top will get you nowhere.

BTW, installing rear engine mount (or even Cork Sport inserts) will improve shifting smoothness quite a bit.

My question is how do you all feel about the shifter height? I like where the stock shifter sits but want a way shorter throw.

I was doing a transmission swap from the n/a 5 spd to ms3 6spd so I had to source everything, I was going to order the oe shifter assembly but when I saw it cost @$275 plus I knew I would need to add the cost of a twm ss to that it became clear as day the full rteplcement was the best bet, couple this shifter with a short throw up front on the transmission you are seriously talking about very very small throws between gears with no binding, I 'am talking about as little as .5" of throw.
