ultimate racing downpipe smoking turbo issues ???

Does someone get a smoking turbo when you add the ultimate racing downpipe to your Mazdaspeed 3 ?

Thanks for your feedback

No

InFeXIoN 11-18-2011 07:59 PM

Yes, only if you give it a cigarette.

Speedn3 11-18-2011 08:54 PM

as with any aftermarket dp...its hit or miss.

Depends on the car and the turbo. Having a cat helps it not smoke, but its not guaranteed.

any other tought ?

They're trying to be nice and not flame the crap out of you. This topic has been beaten to death over the years. Downpipes don't cause smoking turbos. Your restrictive, very efficient at cleaning the crap coming out of your engine, factory cat masks the problem you already had. When the factory cat goes away, your problem is revealed.
In the interest of full disclosure, there are some who believe that the greater backpressure of the factory cat somehow supports the turbo seals and keeps them from leaking oil. I'm not getting involved in that debate.

maybe but my turbo smoke insteat I was completely stock everywhere ... so maybe it helps but not always.

So you telling me ...

If my turbo seal have to smoke either way downpipe aftermarket or not it will smoke so I must try it ...

Facepalm.

If its smoking with the downpipe it was smoking before. Going catless reveals the problem but you were smoking without the downpipe it was just all caught in the cat.

So I must to the modification ... and don't think about the smoking turbo ?

engrish>you

if your turbo is smoking, it will continue smoking. the damage is done.

a dp does not necessarily mean that it will smoke. i ran a dp for a while on stock turbo and it NEVER smoked with 45k and none of the tsb's for smoking turbo....probably because i use dino oil and change every 3k so fuck all teh haters

I smoked when I threw on DP. Rotella 5W-40 helps and oil restrictor bolt helps even more. This subject is covered extensively and the information is already available.

But like I see it doesn't have any REAL solution to this problem...

so we must live with our smoking turbo

speedms6 11-22-2011 06:49 AM

solution: get a new turbo, stop asking the same thing over and over, there's a million threads on here about smoking turbos, get a replacement k04 or go big turbo, thats the only way ti will stop smoking, but a replacement k04 will most likely smoke in the future, get the little fixes they may help

I don't smoke I just want to prevent ... just that.

I read all the thing about the subject but it's seem that we are any REAL solution it's just what I said
