(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score This morning I was driving up the ramp to get on I75 to go to work. Accelerating WOT, at about 5000rpms BOOM then a CLUNK!! In my mind, OH MY PHAWKING GOD I threw a rod!!!! ![]() But the car motor sounded good and no loud noise. Pulled off the highway and pulled in to a Publics parking lot to hear the motor at idle. All is fine. Driving the rest of the way to work easily, I hear like something is loose. Metal ping when car lurches forward or backwards. I'm like WTF NOW!. Couldn't really do anything until I got home. When I got home I checked everything and found the problem. Medieval Passneger mount is bad, sagged down and back. Causing Rear lower SU mount to be cocked (just like Arron7's Medieval one) ARRON7 you need to remove the passenger mount pronto or the stock rear mount you put back is gonna break lol!!! Aside from that my axles were pulled apart with alot of play (that was the BOOM and Clunk). I think my axles, tires, inputs on the tranny, tranny mount (maybe bent) are damaged!!!!!!!!!!!GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!RESTITUTION IS IN ORDER I THINK!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() REMOVE YOUR MEDIEVAL PASSENGER MOUNT IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR AXLES,TRANNY, TRANNY MOUNT AND TIRES!!!!!!!! A RECALL IS IN ORDER! Vid is about 118'ish megs (sorry so big and I'm so noisy, I was on my back lol (no puns please lol)) right click and save: http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/damages/damage.wmv Pics: SU is now fully cocked. Motor bracket is cocked. Bushings have seperated. Motor bracket touched the frame bracket. With motor supported you can how much it has moved when I put the stocker in place. After putting stock passenger mount back in the SU rear mount is alittle less crooked, I'm gonna have to take it out and reinstall it this weekend after some more driving. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I can't tell from the pics, but did your bushing fail? Did that cause the rotating part to move significantly? Here's a quote from MAZDASPEED DEMON on the other forum.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Bio, Please send me an email. As for this, this is the 3rd one we have seen and have haulted all orders until we figure it out. If we redesign the mount, all those with this style will be asked to send it back after we provide you with a new one. We stand behind out products 100% and things like this are not what we expect. I will post our findings. Thank you |

| Not Ranked : 0 score We will be sending out new bushings for the lower half of the mount. We use a 70 Shore and it is just to soft for the weight of the motor. They will be here on Friday and everyone that has ordered from Dark Star or directly with us will be receiving new bushings. I will also finish out the redesign on the side mount and after loading the data into FEA (Pro E) the new design will be a cure to this. We here at Medieval are embarassed and upset at this. We will correct the issue and make it right for those effected. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Everything is back in place pretty much, just gotta take off the SU rear mount and put it back on straight. I won't know if the axles are damgaged/weakend till later, the main damage would be to the passneger axle where the outer and inner joined. I was getting new tires anywas lol. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score So wait a minute...is there a new mount being re designed right now? and we will be receiving the NEW mount? Are we going to get it first, THEN return the old mount...or are we gonna have to send in the old mount first then wait for a new one? I prefer putting a refundable deposit while you send us a new mount...then install it...send back the old one and we get refunded full amount... If you may, create a new thread specifically for this medieval |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Time will tell on this issue. But in general, I don't think that just because something is CNC'd that that makes it better than well placed steel and good welds. A $600 fuel pump is not necessarily better than a $300 fuel pump. |

You are correct. I could make the mounts from aluminum as I have done in the past and still charge less than the competition. Price does always reflect quality. It reflects Profit and brand name! If you look at those saying this, they are PG guys. Nutari is a PG rep on 247. If you look at the other threads, PG reps or close friends are also the ones making comments and attacking. Mistakes are made, every company goes through them. It's how you address the issue that sets you apart. The bushing is too soft for the weight being applied to it. The side mounts are weight loaded mounts. The direction in which we placed out bushing is the issue and not the mount itself. We use a 65-70 durameter. With the load being applied at the face the durameter is not hard enough to accept these loads. Was a mistake that we accept and are making it right. We are not trying to hide it or cover it up. This is typically the time other vendors will try and jump in and discredit in an attempt to sell their items. This is fine with us as we leave opinions in the customer’s hands. We are having a new bushing made. It will have a higher shore rating and will hold 1500lbs without deforming. What has happened here is the bushing is deforming and dropping the motor a quarter inch. When it drops it also allows an inch of for/aft movement. I already started designing a new mount that will position the bushing how we have done in the past. I will be sending off new bushings to those that ordered from Dark Star or direct on Friday. When they arrive I ask that you remove the lower bushing and install the new one. Once the new mounts are back from power coating late next week I will also send off those as replacements. I will have call tags in the box for those to ship back the old mounts. We will resolve this issue and get back on track. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score We have several products coming to the Speed 3 market and I know competition will get ugly. Name calling and rumors will fly with each ones release. Here's a small taste of the future. 3.5" Down pipe. This is a quick shot of the bell mouth for the 3.5" down pipe. The cross section of the tube area is nearly perfect. In other words, flows a lot of gas. Modeled in Solid Works, FEA in Pro E and Flowed in Cosmos. The final bell mouth has a company logo in it. . Thats all the info to be released Last edited by medieval; 03-10-2009 at 12:28 AM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score LOL, really!! Over and over we go. Dave, Mike, Tay are your Medieval guys. Maybe I will start saving all the threads of those that are hearing the same excuses from you on their orders. Delays, lost in space, can't get a hold of anyone over there when they have issues. If they didn't get deleted over on 247 there would be a basket full. Do yourself a favor and stop discrediting what Ken has worked so hard for. Since you are in Hawaii you truly do not know what happens day in and day out at PG. You are a forum rep that is making some money on the side to sell for PG. As for that shipment, that was something Dark Star shipped to one of his customers. Boost tubes or something of that nature. Nothing to do with Medieval at all. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Sorry for the interruption of changing back to the main subject lol. Drove to work this morning, aggressively. Everything seems to be ok for now. Less vibrations obviously lmao. The metal ping sound is gone on the lurching, feels solid. The SU's rear mount will be reinstalled today, I will not wait for the weekend like previously stated and will check the tranny mount also later on today since I'm at work right now lol. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you would like to discuss mount bushing failurs i have a few pictures of my SU mount bushing that was destroyed. Not only was the bushing cracked but the mount its self has an indentation where you could see the bolt was butting load on the back half of the mount and bending the aluminum. With that i have had absolutly 0 problems with medieval. All of our converstaions and transactions have went smoothly. Medieval is always quick to respond to my questions and concerns and the products are delievered on time and as promised. |
