Very bad whine I am new to the Mazdaspeed world as i just bought a speed6. I got the car for a really good deal because it had recently been repod. It has 130000 miles which i was weary of, yet it was completely stock and felt rightfully so while driving. So i figured i would get it. Two days later it started to make a really bad whine when i got on it in first and second gear. Whenever I gave it about 70% throttle in first and second gear it would happen. First thing i did was look online for problems with this car. I found this site and promptly threw my money at it because of all the GREAT info on here. After reading about all the things that could go wrong i started going down the list. Now this whine... Its like a Supercharger from hell. Its as if my gears are clawing at themselves just trying to kill everything. Think I'm exaggerating Finally I end up with all of my motor/Diff/Transmission mounts going out within a short time so they all combine to make this noise. I just thought that someone new might have some questions like mine and no definitive answer and i guess introduce myself. After replacing Transmission mount and strapping my rear diff. the horrible beast is gone. Now I get to just hear the great noises 88 Durometer mounts make. :beerchug: |
Welcome to MSF and it's good a contribution. |
I too am new to the MSF, after recently buying a gen 1 MS6 with 92k, I am hearing the same "whine" at first I thought the left front tire was rubbing on the wheel well. At this time it primarily does this when I get on it in 1st gear. So, moving forward, I get replacing tranny mounts but what does "strapping the rear differential" mean? Also, what did it cost you to replace/fix the BEAST! thank you for the post..... droid spyder |
