Wheel hopped bad...Think I broke something.. Here is what happened: I took off on an on-ramp. Shifted hard to second and started wheel hopping really bad. Let off and noticed a short while later that I had a weird issue at very low throttle. The car will now feel like its alternating between a slight engine brake and coasting at very low throttle (cruising speeds). When you get back on the gas it disappears. It feels like a slight shudder but pretty random like the throttle cannot make up its mind if it wants open or close. I did fuck up my cold boost tube when installing my meth (have a replacement coming) and while it holds boost the airflow path is not nearly as smooth as it should be. Not sure if they could be related but any idea where to start would be helpful. |
If your motor mounts are stock then its possible that you broke one. Probably the rear one... |
did you pop the hood to see if the engine is slanted one way or the other? did you look under the car at the rmm? |
I didn't check the motor mounts. I have an insert in the rear one. I will go check them when I get done with my work today. Wouldn't a broken mount effect more than just slight throttle off throttle though? It seems to shift fine. Thanks. |
yes it would. but wheel hop wouldn't cause throttle issues. you sure this ain't in your head? |
Well its difficult to explain what is happening. I'm sure its not in my head cause its pretty annoying. It only happens when I am barely pressing the throttle, like when maintaining highway speed, and then I get this surge and cut feeling. I turned on the cruise control to make sure it wasn't me being stupid and sure enough when the cruise was at very low throttle the car started to blip. You can see it on the RPMs as well it just jumps 100 to 200 RPMS and then back down very quickly. It feels like something is loose. I reset the ECU thinking it was a software glitch but it did nothing. If I have time later i will take a video because Im having a hard time describing this. |
I have inserts too, and have the same issue. lets get rid of these stock mounts. |
