While changing my spark plugs.

So I was changing my spark plugs today and when I look into my intercooler I see this:

I don't think that's normal for it to be that dirty. The car doesn't smoke at all.

Time for an OCC.

561BlackMS3 10-20-2013 07:47 PM

OCC??

Tokay444 10-20-2013 07:49 PM

Thank you guys.

speed23 10-20-2013 08:18 PM

I had exactly the same thing. I assumed it was oil that was cooked into carbon dust.

BigRedSpecial 10-21-2013 05:32 AM

Occ isn't going to do anything for oil in the intercooler hotside...

What else could it be? I'm not smoking so I'm assuming it isn't my seals.

BigRedSpecial 10-21-2013 05:48 AM

Seals could be leaking on the compressor side but not enough to smoke... or you could have excessive blow by. I'd pull your TIP and check for oil from the VC hose

Tokay444 10-21-2013 01:00 PM

are you catted?

The car is completely stock.

Tokay444 10-21-2013 07:17 PM

Ok. Running two oem cats will mask A LOT of smoke.

561BlackMS3 10-21-2013 07:36 PM

Oh ok, we'll I'll pull the tip this weekend and see.

Tokay444 10-21-2013 07:42 PM

Do a compression and leak down test.

+1

Quick update:

Took off my air box, and I can see the stain of oil coming from the vacuum hose. I did a compression test and all cylinders would go up to 210 at every interval then taper down to 180 and hold it (+/- 2).

Tokay444 10-28-2013 01:52 AM

As in the other thread, something is wrong with your gauge if it's "tapering down" as you say. Assuming you didn't run a leak down test.

Tokay444 10-29-2013 08:01 AM

BigRedSpecial 10-29-2013 02:45 PM
