Nothing yet. I just finished sorting out all the stuff that need to be fixed. I put tires, brakes, and changed the sway bar bushings. The PO installed Koni yellow struts.

I'm getting ready to ship the car out. I will start tinkering with it when I get it back.

Suh-WEEET! Did you do the bushings yourself? I had mine done at about 100k, and now at 172k they are making noise again.

What kind of noise do they make ? I have a light knock when I set off and when I stop. Sounds like its coming from the passenger wheel.

The front and rear made a rapid clunking sound when I would hit a bump. I changed the rear bushings and had the dealer change the fronts. I tried but it was difficult in the parking lot of my apartment. Car is now silent.

Have identical car. Color an wheel setup. Stage colder plugs cobb v3acessport. 102xxx no smoke. Still purs. Although in mass the roads eat sway bar bushings. Less 15$ online

CAI, AP, Koni yellows - that's it so far. Compression is decent, so I am considering AT internals, BNRS3, DP, and it needs a clutch.

Wow, here I am at 89K miles thinking I need to get rid of this thing before it hits 100K... Lol. These cars are so hit or miss. Some people don't make it to 50K without replacing the engine and others are nearing 200K... What the fuck.

I'm at 112k with original turbo and clutch

Giving it a little "tappy-tap-tap-taparoo" via HTC

I have been worried at each major milestone. Now I worry whether it is a waste to go big turbo since the car has a lot of miles. But driving it yesterday through the hills... I tell you, my little self-tune LOVES this cold weather! I get a bit of a rough patch in acceleration occasionally, but throttle response is crazy, and it pulls hard! I need to get some time to run some fresh logs.

160,000 miles on mine now. Original engine, turbo, trans.

The only major expense on it that I think was something that shouldn't have worn out was a throttle body around 130K cause the stupid plastic gears wore and it started going into limp mode on random hot restarts when it was damp out. They should sell those gears cause paying $450 for a whole thing cause a 50 cent piece of plastic wore out is bullshit. I actually got the thing to work temporarily just by flipping the one gear over so the worn teeth weren't being used during idle control. Worked for a year till another code threw for "high opening error" or something.

I will be crossing 216,000 today; thoroughly enjoying my BNRS3 at somewhere around 355whp. I should do some vdynos now that the weather is getting cooler. Still burning about a quart every 3500 miles or so, been that way for a long time.

140k miles here on stock engine, its the only thing that hasn't been changed in the car. Compression is till good, and it does eat a little bit of oil.

152k and time for a clutch. Just got done replacing the turbo and transmission. I blew second gear. And Yes, I am an Idiot for not replacing the clutch while the tranny was out!
I've done a valve cleaning earlier this year and 2 yrs ago (110k?) I did timing chain and VVT.
Compression is decent. A little extra leakdown past the rings on one cylinder, but it has been close to a year since I check either of those.

I got 170k on the original engine but ever since hitting that mark i've been getting a misfire i haven't able to figure out, code says Cylinder 2 misfire and it didn't go away after new plugs and coils. No power loss or gas mileage effect... yet.

I did however replace the whole transmission around 160k for a used one with 50k on it and put a Fidanza flywheel instead of the dual mass stock. That's probably the more expensive thing i had to do on it.

I keep regular maintenance on it and stick to stock parts mostly. I just got some Moog sway bar links on the mail that need to be installed to quiet down a squeak back there.

Just hit 120,000 miles on original engine and drive train.

I did replace the turbo with a rebuilt K04 back in the spring, and dealer did the VVT recall fix, if that counts, but the engine, cylinder head, all internals, clutch, transaxle, are otherwise completely OEM.

Still has static cylinder compression of 190-195 across the board and has been run hard with mods below. There is a little bit of leak down percent increase, but nothing to speak of, only to watch for change.

Yes.

Think carefully about your goals. I am quite happy with my BNRS3v2. With my older car and engine, I think I made my best choice. If you want to cross the 400whp barrier, you will need to put more into suspension and tires so as to not just spin in 3rd gear, and you would want to go to probably a GTX29xx series, and will also want auxiliary fueling. The BNRS3 is awesome if you are not planning on getting that complex. The new S4 sounds pretty good, but will have more lag. I don't think I would want to wait another 500rpm for full boost, but that's me - and if you spend enough, you can make better too.

At the least, I can say I am exceedingly happy that I did not just stay with my K04.

Well my goal is around 350whp now...and if i ever build the engine i ll just aim for 400whp. I want the s4 just because itll have that extra room if i want it without needing aux fueling.

I wouldn't. Your choice of course, and I wish you the best of success, but the temptation of what sounds like reserve power for the future will leave you with more lag. I have both my 07 with the BNR and a 2012 that is still stock, and I go back and forth between them regularly. I would definitely not want the extra lag.

You can get more power with the GTX29 series, with little lag because of a ball-bearing billet aluminum setup. I think I t would be worth the extra to do it right if you want the headroom. I suggest you talk with @lex about your options.

Do you have E85 available?

Just don't go with a cheap kit. I may yet add it, if I want to push the envelope on my old runner.

Good luck! Keep us all posted! And find a good mechanic friend with tons of tools and patience. That's what I did.

For sure. When the time comes i wont run on an aggresive tune and tell my tuner to keep the torque low. I feel that way itll be stress on the current engine.my other concern is a clutch..not sure which route to go

Post 207K and still going

Does 207089 count as high mileage?
No significant mods, the turbo was replaced under warranty at 60K, original cultch, still get 24-25mpg. The biggest maintenance items have been tires, brakes, and wheel bearing.
It has developed an oil consumption problem lately.

229,780 miles on orginal clutch and engine. Turbo was replaced at 130,000 with a gtx3071r. Key is religious maintenance. Every 3k oil change with full synthetics and all other fluids changed once a year. Went to the strip with it yesterday and banged out a 13.6. Not bad for a heavy 4 door sedan.

Very impressive, especially the fact that you are still on the stock clutch, gives me hope!
