A weighted shift knob has the same feel. Bought one for my Evo, ended up switching back.

After a good few days of driving I have noticed something. Without the weight, there is something weird going on while shifting/turning. It occasionally will lock out of 2nd gear while turning. I just thought I was lazy shifting...but it has happened more than once. Looks like I am putting on the weight to see if the problem persists.

With the weight removed, I had trouble getting into 1st for the first time ever and it was persistent.

I removed the counter weight before and hated it. But I was just cruising around town so I'll try it when racing. I think the best shifter feel improvement for me was when I changed the shifter bushing.
