Won't go into 3rd gear

It grinds when I try to put in 3rd. I have a JBR short shift plate. Thinking it's that or the synchros?

Check your shifter cables... They might be binding

Also, check at the shifter plate and see if the cable has come loose.

Does it always grind or pretty much only when trying to shift under wot?

It always grinds unless I rev match. I took it to a reputable shop today and they said the synchros are shot. ~$1000 to fix.

Looks like someone needs to double clutch until they can rebuild :) That would be my diagnosis as well.
