depends: are you boosting more than stock or knocking for no good reason? if so, get densos. if not, it's probably not necessary.

That being said, changing the spec of oil may be good, but it's risky imo. Goes outside of the manual lol.
you are lame.

The manual is more or less your first line of defense against dealerships when they try to deny you something. Case in point, something goes boom. "Well, balls. I did everything the manual says and even got you guys to service it routinely!" Balls in their court to fix the issue.

Sure you could deviate from this to do your own thing but some people really don't want to stick around to fight with a dealership over warranty coverage IF something happens. If you have the time and will to fight against it, go for it, otherwise, keep it as trouble-free as possible with a peace of mind knowing they'd really really REALLY have to bend over backwards and then some to find some way to screw you over.

Still, it's not to say I trust everything they say. Just over typical "common" sense stuff like oil/transmission changes. No way in hell would I only change my oil every 15k, like BMW says. And lifetime transmission oil huh? But this is only if I were to ever own one anyway and I'd take the position of "screw-the-dealer's-free-maintenance" and possibly kissing my warranty goodbye as well. Leasing it? Well shoot, I'm not throwing my money away just to take care of my temporary pristine baby so the next owner can enjoy my hard earned cash/judicious maintenance. Manual says 15k and lifetime tranny fluid? Good enough for me in this instance!

tl;dr, if you're not cheap/poor and have massive amounts of time and have balls of steel(apparently), feel free to tinker away, otherwise, stick with the manual.

I think some of you guys are over thinking driving this car.

There are only two things I never do:

1 - run the engine hard when its cold. Always let it warm up for 5 minutes at least before even getting 50% throttle or boosting at all.

2 - Never lug the engine. I basically downshift until 3K then lay into the throttle.

That's it, I enjoy the car I don't want to over think driving this car. I bought a new car for a reason, it sees 6K 3 or 4 times a week and she still runs like the day I got it.

If I found myself monitoring my KR etc every day or running through a checklist before I floored it I wouldn't enjoy it, but that just me. Its just a fun DD, thats all.
