wtf did i do?

driving home from work today and a snow chunk falls off a truck in front of me, try to swerve but it ends up going under the car about a foot in from the passenger wheel, and it hits something underneath... it wasnt very big but still. kept driving and noticed the clutch has a vibe at the top of it now, which im fairly positive wasnt there before. start freaking out since i just read a thread on vibrating clutch --> throwing a rod, but pretty sure it must have just knocked something under the car right? drive home like a grandma and pop the hood. intake seems a little loose but nothing really. engine sounds a little knocky but idk... ill post a vid up in a bit

any ideas off the hop?

I'd check the oil filter. It's in that area, probably not the reason for the vibrating but you don't want it knocked loose.

I may be wrong, but I thought the bent rod vibrating clutch was felt when the pedal was pushed to the floor, not at the top.

ill roll it up on the ol rhino ramps and have a look.

think if it bumped the exhaust it would make a vibe in the clutch?

Clutch vibration is directly linked to the engine. Now, you might have hit the clutch linkage but wrong side of the car???

Any pulsing or vibration from the clutch (in any car) is bad.

thats what i was thinking, maybe i knocked the trans or somehing but wrong side.

stock rmm, maybe it kerplowed that?

HPFPUPGRADE 03-08-2012 04:48 PM

Possible, get it up in the air and take a look. Keep us posted on what you find.

Thanks,

John

went under, cant see anything out of the ordinary, shitty stock rmm is still shitty stock rmm and oil filter is tight, nothing looks broken etc... but unrelated, i do notice from the bottom my TIP is leaking at the turbo/pipe connection... intake seems jiggly but nothing standing out :dunno: maybe it was just my imagination?
