They're probably super busy with all the complaints. Or busy making faulty manifolds.

I've got the stock manifold back on and so glad I can actually drive my car again without leaks and knocking. XS Power big fail.

Thanks for all of the info and detailed updates from everyone. I was about to buy one of these, but after reading this whole thread I am going to wait and see if a v3 comes out, or save up for a better mani.

XS seems very quiet actually, someone used to reply in that thread often last year but no more feedback since people discovered the angle issue and the flange surface...
Let see

I think they are gone. No word from them at all about my issues. Email sent over a month ago now and nothing whatsoever. All I asked from them was to tell me their thoughts on the issues I had. They could easily have just replied that the mani was as designed and they do not consider it an issue.

I may see if I can get somebody to fix the flange angle and make it work.

Don't buy this manifold. Save up and buy a CPE or Full Race. Fuck these guys.

They don't support their shit, and they don't want our community as customers because we called their asses out. They misadvertised materials, the fitment is hit or miss and there is no support.

MSF gets exhaust manifold raped... Again...

The guy selling them on ebay, sb_ranger I think was his name, blamed it on our inability to install them and that we probably don't know which end of a screwdriver to use. I think I will hold out for the CS one if it ever happens.

I was having massive exhaust leak true both gaskets. Was abut to go to the stock manifold, and then decide to use my stock gasket, haven't had a problem yet. 2wk leak free.

I have this manifold. When I first installed it the gaskets that came with the manifold blew out and leaked bad. Ordered new stock gaskets from autozone and problem solved. So far so good.

I actually left him "sb_ranger" bad feedback on ebay when I first purchased my manifold because of the gaskets....

All I have ever used was brand new stock OEM gaskets. I did get my manifold to work and it's still installed and it works. At this point it's the vendors zero fucks given attitude that's pushing me over the top.

People can choose to play with the thing to make it work but it clearly wasn't engineered that well and they don't give a shit about making it right. $450 is still a chunk of change.

WMI gains are much better than the exhaust manifold by a significant amount, so that is a great idea IMO.

You think? I assumed with corn, WMI wouldn't bring as much for gains.

Well if you are already tuned for corn then WMI won't give the same gains, no.

Unless you're already using e85.
Either meth or eth will let you run to the safe limits of timing, & running both will not magically get you more.

Generically, until you run out of injector around 400-425hp, just run e85 if you can get it easily. It's simpler to live with everyday and you actually save money since it costs less than 93 and there's no kit or anything to buy.

No e85, then by all means you want meth & a progressive controller

Ok, seems that the V2 version, comes with OEM/copper gaskets, while V1 still gets cheap gaskets?

Also, I was really interested in getting this due to the price, but can placing it on a belt sander help out with leaks?

Neither of those listings include mazda oem gaskets.

Does seem that they're aware since the listing has been updated to include the following warning-

This manifold has been test fit on numerous cars and should fit. The factory turbo bracket may need to be removed for fitment. Minor modification may be needed based on your downpipe, intake and intercooler setup.

You might not have to even put it on the belt sander. I may just be lucky but I used new oem gaskets and some copper hi-temp sealant and was good to go. Some people might have had problems with slightly backing out studs from the head when removing the stock manifold and never realized it causing a leak on install. Ask me how I know lol. But like I said I may just be one of the lucky ones that ended up with a solid manifold and good fitment.

Failure is bound to happen in every product. But it seems the percentage of failure with these manifolds are just to high. I really wanted to get one and honestly still do however I dont want to risk buying without any product support. Its a shame they couldn't simply address the mistakes, redesign, and sell the shit out of them here.

Here is my theory/plan. I don't want to try to run full e85 again, car runs like piss. So, with 50/50 e85 and wmi, I plan on running the same timing as you would running full e85, without the drawbacks. The combo of those 2 will put my octane rating much higher than just 50/50 e85; more timing and stupid low bats. Higher bats, more knock. I need every bit of power out of this k04 to run 11s, that's why I'm doing it this way.

I think a lot of the problem is these guys are trying to install the manifold with the turbo support bracket still in. It says it needs to be removed. I will be installing mine shortly and post up on fit and performance if any

Pay attention to the studs in the head connecting to the manifold make sure before you put your new manifold on they are seated all the way in the head like they are supposed to be. They sometimes start to back out when you take off the stock exhaust manifold. Just a heads up to keep you from getting leaks and saving you a headache.

I would have been happy with mine if it was only the leak which was a simple fix. A bolt on part like this shouldn't make you have to modify your downpipe and oil drain just to make it fit like mine didnt. A few mm would be fine but half an inch just makes this very badly engineered. Buy something proven to work.

Mines been fitted with no problems or leaks. The engine was on a stand though which would make life a lot easier. Got to wait two weeks to pick her up, can't wait.

With the couple people stating that theirs is leak free, I really think mine was one of the bad ones. I am still convinced that my gap could not be closed up properly without something bending in the process. I tried every which way to install it (without forcing it closed) and the misalignment was just too much. Glad its working for some though. Not sure if they are still selling them or not, but I wouldn't suggest anyone buy it now purely for the reason of no customer support.

I also messaged SB_ Ranger in regards to the massively warped manifold flange. With no reply. I left negative feedback. I'm not sure why you would run a business like that. It doesn't seem to smart to me.

It's really a shame.
With minimal effort they could have sold em as fast as they could make em.

I'm glad I have mine, but just can't justify encouraging others to purchase when it's, at best, 50/50 that it will leak from either, or both, flanges and their customer support is apparently nill when it's needed most.

Truth be told, I should have taken the money for the manifold ($450) + the money for the DP ($650) and just bought my damn BNRS3.

Do they still do the CARB thing out there, and is there an issue with either the mani or dp, compared to swapping the BNR?

Just curious- I'm in "If it rolls it can have a license plate" Florida, but most don't have it so easy. Doubly not as easy for ya'll California folks!!

Very good point Eric. The BNR would swap on and make it past even the most careful of inspections. The header/DP won't make it past visual inspection in CA which leaves us to our own devices on that one. Another huge + for BNR, plus I know BNR will make at least as much power with all of the stock parts as I do right now even considering I am fully bolted.

Hindsight, I would do intake, TMIC, WMI, BNRS3 and call it good.

Lol, I've been following your thread, because we have the same mods. You're just always one step ahead of me. I honestly was on the fence of either doing this manifold, or ported IM with converting my WMI to a direct port. But after reading this and your thread of no gains of the ported IM. I think I'm going to spend the money on a brembo front brake conversion.

I was just about order the v2 off ebay and decided to check this thread. Sucks to read about the poor support. I am glad to see the last couple people seem to have no leaks.

But seriously this manifold only picked up 10hp?
If that's the case I think I might just spend the money elsewhere

Power is always good. Like what a bigger turbo gives. But I also think that balance is equally important to the health of the motor. The ported IM and exhaust manifold do this effectively.
