I dont get it. They have been making these for years now. They were making them back when the 6club was still alive...or was that only the trans mount, which BTW did not fit either due to design fuckup.

No, exactly. That's why I said 4 years ago. There's some 6club threads regarding this issue, and at least one of them goes into discussing emailing AWR about getting it resolved, and even supposedly received a revision that helped the problem. So the question remains why did they continue to sell these to speed6 owners for years when they knew it was a problem.
As far as I know, these mounts are interchangeable between MZ6 and MS6.

They continued selling them because people continued buying them. No one else was making them.

When SURE announced they were working on one for ms6 they woke up real quick and revised the design.

They could have cared less for the past 2 years or whatever it was even if people were complaining.

Not the kind of business I want to support.

Got my mounts today. I was lucky enough to receive the revised design, with the taller top bracket (pure luck, i haven't been involved in this whole debacle until a week ago).

Unfortunately, my motor pulled my PMM center post out of the mount a lil bit, so my comparison isn't quite apples to apples:



But i had BCmurphy send me a pic of his mount, and indeed the top plate is supposed to sit flush with the rubber mount:




Here are some fairly crude pics from the hip:





And the amount of gap i had is pretty much the reason they were slightly off:




Motor was pretty much in the exact same position with the new mount, so i'm a happy camper:






Oh yeah, one other thing i had to do was drill out the lug on the ground wire, and move it to one of the big posts on the timing cover. There was just barely enough meat on the lug to drill out and fit around the threaded post, but it's good enough for me. Easier than extending the ground to a different spot IMHO.




Hope everyone else has good luck with their mounts (and i agree, AWR should think about sending replacement top brackets for previously sold mounts.... even if they had to charge a lil bit to do so without losing money... it would just be the right thing to do).

People with tmics need to think that this mount that lowers the motor probably significantly impacts the tmic seal resulting in higher bats.

I didn't even realize the height offset before. I took my awr pmm off last night after reading this thread, and sure enough, the motor came up at least an inch after swapping the stocker back in. I have had some weird vibrations and noise and I bet this damn mount was the issue.

I don't know much, but I know Mazda engineers know a lot more than awr regarding correct motor positioning.

I installed the 3 mount trio last night, and honestly, the vibes really aren't as bad as i was expecting. I was ready to drive a vibrator to work this morning, but thank god, it wasn't much worse than it was before.


The noise.... however.... is way worse than i imagined. I hear one noise from the trans mount that follows wheel speed, almost like something were rubbing. I haven't had a chance to look into it further, but i will one night this evening. Probably throw it up on jack stands and put it in first gear and just crawl around and listen.

when i installed my awr trans mount i really herd the "whine" from the trans and other stuff.. just got used to it ! and the mount did break in and the noises settled down.
is your engine level ?? wondering if updated mount fixes the old problem..

The mount trifecta is pretty intense, man.
I mean, I personally like how raw it feels, but my old lady won't even ride in my car anymore because of it.

And the trans mount sounds sweet! I love the sound of gears 1 and 2 winding up.

I drove again with the stock motor mount today and am very happy. I didn't realize how much NVH I was getting with the PMM, but I am happy.

I hit the mods pretty hard after I got my car, and I am realizing that I am happier the more I 'demod' my car back to stock. Knowing now what I know, I would only do CAI, upgraded TMIC, catback, AP, rear diff mount and done.

Yup, engine seems to be just as level as it was. The noise i'm hearing isn't a whine, it's like a rub. Sounds weird. I have the whine too... no big deal, the rubbing is what's concerning.

It is proven that having no shroud for the ducting to seal to will diminish flow/efficiency.

I have the 88 duro trans mount. Seems like it resulted in just as much nvh as the PMM. But my PMM is 88 as well. The softest mount of the three is my CPE wishbone. But it is pretty harsh. Maybe I should have opted for 70...

at this point, though, does it make sense to buy a new one from AWR and then have to get a corrected piece instead of just buying a JBR mount for $20 more?

How many times does it have to be said in this thread wtf? This is for MS6. There is no JBR mounts for MS6.

Mount feels great with the 70 duro bushing ..
The mount is the same as the old one just fits correct ..
Car is very responsive with all three mounts .. No engine movement .
Makes the car feel very racy .. With all the power going directly to the drivetrain .. Without the mushey stock mounts soaking up the energy .

I sent an email to them last week, but didn't get any reply...was really just ready to wait for the SURE S6 mounts, but Tony from AWR sent me tracking info for the updated top half of the PMM. Hope to have it soon.

Ya but spoke with the few mins ago Im 90% sure they found the problem.... Valve lash from being too tight will know thursday for sure.
