Cs fmic and Cpe dp insta

Installed my corksport ram air fmic, and Cpe catted pipe dp about a week ago and the car feels so much better now.. It kind of sounds like a supercharger with the tip that comes with the kit. Installation of the fmic was about 5 hours, the dp took about 5 as well.. I'm using the ap cs stage 2 map and did some logs and everything is running great.. Can't believe how much of a difference it made, a g35 coupe found that out the hard way the other night, lol.. I will post some logs later. But anyone with reservations about going fmic I can tell you it worth it and you won't regret it unless your getting one of those cheapo eBay kits.. Thanks to @alhpa for the good deal on the dp and to corksport for making a very good fmic..

@maddocx240

What was the Ambient Temp when you took these? The BATS seem higher then i would want them with a FMIC but that all depends on the Ambient and driving conditions.....

It was about 70 degrees.. How low do you want bats to be? Or how low should they be?

Speeden6 06-12-2012 04:32 PM

From the little i know, that inst too bad, but personally i would expect the BATS to be lower with a FMIC....... i took some logs with my MS6 yesterday in 77 Degree weather and was sticking around 120-130 with a TMIC after some constant aggressive logging and i am running 20 PSI Peak tapering down to 18 3rd gear pulls 3K to 6K. How big is the core?

It's a ram-air. That's the air filter

BAT's do seem a tad high. I took this log when it was ~75 or so out. I only hit 110 @20PSI near 6k.

In the future it's easier to read WOT only logs from ~3-6k.

maddocx240 06-12-2012 05:54 PM

I will take another log and see.. I was under the impression that as long as the bat don't go over like 130 or something like that it's ok..

try cleaning your phones camera lens/cover

smoogs12 06-12-2012 06:15 PM

@maddocx240 your bats are fine taking into account your IAT. Intake temps are around 90 and BATs are around 110. That's only a difference of 20*. You're fine.

I thought it looked ok but everyone has different standards of what they want, lol..

BATs can only be as low as the air going in.

infeKteDx 06-12-2012 06:32 PM

Wait so their RAM air intake sits above the engine where the stock intercooler went? No wonder your Intake temps are so high.

Good call, missed that because I took IAT's off the AP.

Perhaps I change my mind about the ram air vs SRI version of this kit.
