Default Revised clutch pedal for speed6

So there's a TSB for the shitty clutch engagement on the speed6, which replaces the pedal, and the clutch. Has anyone swapped only the revised clutch pedal and not the rest of the clutch assembly? Was there a significant improvement?

My warranty is expired, so I cant afford to replace all parts, but I figure the revised clutch pedal would go a long way to improving clutch action. I am I correct?

Thanks.

mmhm, I wasn't aware of a replacement clutch pedal assembly -- only the adjustment to level out the spring tension.

have you a link?

never saw this before, but all you need to do is the clutch pedal adjustment elsewhere on this site. a 10 minute job, no parts required, completely changes the way the pedal feels and engages

I dont know of anyone who actually got this, there are too many other options that dont require ripping the dash out.

mmhm interesting! I am type A, build number 5774.

Even by adjusting it seems that the total problem couldnt be fixed? I mean why would Mazda say lets replace the entire thing if moving a couple nuts and bolts around could fix the problem.

In what time frame was the simple adjustment TSB released in relation to this 7.5 hour overhaul?

I have done the clutch adjustment and it helped, but I am still looking for improvement (especially if it only costs $200 or so for a pedal). I am assuming the replacement clutch pedal has even pressure throughout the motion....unlike the uneven, soft then suddenly hard pedal feel of the first one.....

I am I misunderstanding or are you saying that you have to rip out the dash to replace the clutch pedal? looks like mazda quotes less than an hour to replace the pedal.

mmhmm.

how difficult to just change the pedal? I would think about 2.5 hours?
Im assuming this replaces the spring as well?

Do you have a linky or part # for the entire assembly?

I actually had the entire TSB done. The original setup had a really unpredictable engagement.

It was bad enough that the dealership service manager couldn't get my car out of the parking space when I took it in for them in inspect it. He agreed to do the TSB on the spot...

IIRC my car has a July 05 build date.

On the TSB, the pedal part number is GP4L-41-300A.

I am assuming that if mazda pays 7.2 hours to replace the pedal and clutch and only 6.5 to replace the clutch only, then the pedal replacement would be worth .7 hours?
SSinstaller: I have the same problem, had my windshield fixed yesterday and the guy could barely drive the car into the shop...LOL.
Did you find the pedal much better? I know its hard to tell with the other stuff fixed also.....

I'm sure there is a some benifit to the pedal assembly replacement, but the majority of the improvement is most likely due to the revised pressure plate assembly..

I have a feeling I still have the stock assembly, in total.

Does this PP have any early wear issues? I've noticed i have been having an intermittent pulsating clutch. (comes and goes. IF it is doing it and i pump the clutch it goes away)

I think i can safely assume PP fingers aren't playing nice with the TOB.

I've done that TSB, my assembly was broken in 2-3 places, it was barely holding on. Took 40k on an ACT HD+ PP though. You can tell if you need one if your clutch pedal jiggles more than half an inch left or right. When I put my new one in it was super solid in place.

Not sure, I assumed I was out of coverage, I had nearly 100k on my car, figured they wouldn't cover it.
