Stereo makes popping noise when I hit the brakes.
If I have the stereo on but muted and am at relatively low speed, every time I touch the brake pedal an audible "pop" seems to emanate from the sub behind the rear seats and to a lesser extent, from the speakers around the car.
I had a Mazda6 V6 Manual with the Bose system in 2004 and it had the same problem. I remember having had to take it to my dealer and have them work on it, but within a few days of receiving the car back from them, the noise began to happen again, and rather than pay through the nose to have the issue resolved, I decided to simply ignore it, as it's really only a minor annoyance.
In any case, the '06 MS6 that I just bought is having the same issue, has anyone else run into it, and if so, have you figured out how to fix it?

Hey mate, mine makes a noise similar to what you describe when I switch to key to ON prior to starting, from memory it happens when the stereo is off, I've also got the BOSE equipped MS6, hasn't really caused me too much concern, but will look into it.

its not a fix, but........instead of muting, just hit the power. it takes the same amount of time and energy.
