Hey does anyone have any details about the newest bnr s4 revision that is coming out soon?

I saw a teaser pic of a new BNR that was like more in line with a GT35 frame turbo. He said he's not calling it an S5 because it differs from all his other so much. That what you're thinking about?

It was mentioned in this thread BNR S3 or BNR S4 and when I asked edgeautosport.com about it, they mentioned that a new one should be out soon.

Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 owners will have a new product from BNR soon after the new year! We are soon to release our gt35 series with a .82 a/r exhaust housing for 44mm turbosmart external wastegate. The compressor housing is a T04E with 4" inlet 2.5" outlet with antisurge! The compressor wheel is custom to BNR and is 62mm on the inducer and 88mm on the exducer. We expect around 70-75 lbs per min at a medium pressure ratio 28-35 psi. Most OE hardware will bolt on (oil feed, water lines ect. You can keep your expensive stock flange custom manifolds and down pipes and save lots of money instead of replacing the whole system!

I'm not entirely sure. I actually just got Bryan's email back. He said the new S4 has a compressor housing update. 3.5" inlet with antisurge larger ar. So much for buying an HTP 3" intake with 3" coupler I will now have to buy a 3.5" coupler.

I'm not too sure if the previous version is still available. Edgeautosport said I would have to wait for the new one which should be about 1 month. Yes that's an different turbo.

There's an revision to the current S4. It'll be with an 3.5" inlet instead of the current 3" inlet.

I sent Bryan a message earlier this week and never got a response cause I was told they were shipping after Christmas and now I was told another 2 weeks..

I thought I read somewhere in addition to the larger compressor housing inlet, that it wasn't going to taper down like the 1st version was, could be wrong.

I've talked to Bryan directly and the 35-style frame turbo is known as the S6 and has a EWG turbine housing with a 44mm outlet for a gate to be mounted on similar to the ATP EWG housings but it's true .82 a/r and again larger wastegate orifice. It's not for stock block peeps so don't bother unless you have k1 rods minimum and are revving past 6700rpm. Also I doubt it will work with a Mazdaspeed 6 just looking at the location of the gate and fact that the PTO has the coolant inlet where the wastegate would be located on the bottom of the turbine housing. The S5 is a turbo a friend of mine has been testing for Bryan for some time and it's just a big wheel S4 with ported turbine housing and bigger comp wheel and comp inlet, same otherwise.

If you're worried about the spool because of that, buy the new one and I'll trade you my brand new unopened BNR s4 with 3" inlet. Would work better for me as well since I run a 3.5" intake.

Thanks for the offer but I'll most likely end up going with the new version along with a 3.5" to 3" silicone reducer I only wanna spend my money once this time around. I'm on my third intake for crying out loud! lol

I spoke with RPM yesterday as my turbo is smoking at random. He talked me into the revised S4. As MS3Shadow mentioned it will have a 3.5" inlet. We had a bad phone connection but the jist I got is AR is revised and it should spool up quicker.

What TIP and intake would you guys run with this turbo? I currently have a CPE to stock turbo TIP and AEM CAI. Could I adapt my CAI to a larger TIP and run that? Or would I get better performance running a whole new intake? Like a JBR tru 3.5 SRI?

I really want this revised s4. It's slightly annoying that I bought mine, haven't even opened it and boom now there's a revised version with a 3.5" inlet and that's what I wanted. Go figure, maybe someone with a 3" intake will wanna trade the new one for mine.

Fixed.
But it's not really an 3.5" intake, it's around 3.25" ID. And people have some issues with the honeycomb air straighter. You have to ask to to get the regular one.

Now now, let's not make this into an intake thread..

Seems the bnrs4 v2 keeps getting pushed back as far as shipping out goes. I was told after Christmas, that time came I was told two more weeks. I was just told again this morning it'll be the end of the month! I hate waiting, was almost tempted to just throw down more moniez for a 3076, but broke..

Hey as long as I has options of S4v2 and S5 and this GT35 frame behemoth to choose from come summertime, I'll be happy as a Hindu cow. Let's hope my new K04 doesn't decide it wants to be another warranty replacement before that...

I know! I tried emailing BNR to see if maybe they would offer a trade in or even send the v1 to be modified but got no response.

Yeah, no reason to sell or return them to just get an 3.5in inlet instead of the v1 3.0in inlet.
