Cp-E CAI and COBB TIP install So I got my CAI and my TIP in the mail the other day. Although the weather was terrible I decided to go ahead with the install. After a few hours of disassembly ( I moved slowly and took my time) --> the hardest part for me was taking off the battery box and figuring out how the hell to remove the stock air box! once i found the hidden bolts and got it removed the assembly was a cake walk. I have a few questions though: should i locktight the maf and use the screws supplied with kit/ or just use the stock maf screws? Does the synoilD filter come pre-oiled? b.c. no oil came in the box. other than that I will have everything put back together (undercarriage plastic covers and battery) when i get out of class today. and then its time to cross my fingers and take a test drive! w007 it looks so nice in my engine bay!! |
cool grats on what sound slike your first install |
I wouldn't loctite the MAF bolts. Just crank them down good. |
So I the synoilD filter DOES come pre-oiled. I changed the oil in my car prior to running it with the new CAI and TIP setup. Wow! I fucking yelled and pumped my fist in the air when i heard that turbo spool and the BPV in action; all of the noises associated with the turbo can be heard much clearer... I REALLY like the way it sounds! But that could be personal preference. Also, I have yet to install my RMM but I can EASILY burn rubber through third gear now (not that I do this often or that I condone beating on the car) it just took me by surprise when i was WOT on the street near my house. Basically bad ass mod I highly recommend it. CP-E did a VERY nice job +1 for them and +1 for their customer service. |

I would say its a pretty sizeable chirp. But no - you are correct - not burning all the way through third. |
i googled it cuz i got a cp-e sri, i was gonna buy dflow but sadley, when i placed my order, i apparantly had ordered while drunk and got myself synoild... oh hack, iv waited too much to exchange. question is does the filter already come pre-oiled? i think it does, but i just wanted to make sure. |
Are you still drunk? Read post number 4, it should answer your question... |
