Default full boost but no power

went on a dyno /tune earlier and 1st pull was around 330whp and 2nd run was 350whp. after that car got messed up. it lost its power its only making 190whp now. afr is around 11.5 and no knock retard. we tried to looks for boost leaks and looks like there was nothing, the only way that we can do it there was feel by hand while car is in boost. also inspected the bov to see if its leaking. none!! and then we watch the exhaust manifold if theres a fire or smoke coming out. theres nothing. after that we did a compression test and its good also. so after 3 hours trying to figure it out we just called it a night. drove the car home and the car is so slow now but i can hit target boost with no problems.

i will do a boost leak tomorrow again to see. if thats not the problem, what else it could be?

He's hitting boost though, if the solenoid was f-d it'd be over boosting (stuck open) or under boosting (stuck closed).

I think you have a clog somewhere, or a ridiculously bad boost leak. For it to shed over 100hp, it'd have to be a gaping hole in your intake manifold or something.

Check both the intake and exhaust for restrictions. Maybe the intercooler? Not sure.

Maybe your VCTS got stuck? Not sure if you even still have it installed.

Got it!! I don't use the forum as you can see! So thats why I didn't get it!! Im not gonna pretend To know how this forum thing works! I've done a lot of work on my mazda and friends but never seen nor have had this problem before so was hoping for some input or just put it out there that I have the problem but I will post an answer when I figure it out or have help doing so!

@mattspeed6; grab a flux capacitor, hook it up to your turbo, jump in your car and accelerate to 80mph and travel back to 2009...you might find your answer.

Glad you are back.

I still have my 5.0 and my speed, grated the speed still has a vented block so driving that isn't really a option and every morning when I look at my corolla and my mustang I can't help but drive the mustang.

I'm debating about saving the speed until the RS comes out then trading it for one of those. But to much ford... I just miss the battle wagon

Yeah, i loved my mustang but it just didnt make sense to keep. Luckily my fiance's car is a fully bolted 3.7 with 3.55 gears. It may not have the grunt the 5.0 has, but its honestly still a lot of fun to drive, so it gets me my fix for now haha. Maybe in a few years that will get traded in on another GT.

I think I would take the ecoboost over the v6. But a friend has a new v6 with a 75 shot. Loves it for what it is.

I'm going to see what lands first, a new speed or the RS. At least we know the new RS exists, just up in the air on when it shows up

I'd take an ecoboost too, but we got her car at the very tail end of 2014 when they were giving out $4,000 in rebates. $18k out the door for a brand new v6 was hard to say no to.

Does anyone think his BPV could be acting up? Just staying partially open and shunting the boost?

So after a long Saturday I ended up pulling the valve cover and checking the timing of the cams and crank! The crank pulley was off. So I checked the crankpulley bolt and it was tight! So I took the bolt off and crank pulley and the thin washer behind it was split! I changed the bolt and washer and retimed the engine getting the cams to tdc and reassemble the motor and all is well car runs great with full power! I've never seen nor heard about spinning a crank bolt and pushing timing that far out! But we shall see how she holds! Good compression so no bent valves odd!! Thanks for all the help and jokes! It's nice to smile when shits not going well!
