Default porting the iwg on a 3076r

just ordered my lovely new turbo. i will be using the iwg for a while and it is suggested that i port the iwg out a bit. i am not afraid to do something like this, but i am a little unsure of what tools to use. i ported a small block chevy head back in high school using a carbide burr, but i know there are other things like this sand paper stuff that is mostly used. can someone please point me in the right direction on which i should use for this specific job?

thanks in advance

I think pretty much if the IWG hole is greater than 25mm, then you're good to go...the newer ATP turbo's are supposed to have enlarged IWG's anyway, so might want to check that before worrying yourself.

My 3071 has a ported IWG, much largr than 25mm...no creep.

Ported till till barely smaller than the flapper. simple as that. Dont risk the creep. Lenny still gets it on the new 3071r.

well you could use pink white or the blue stones on a air grinder. remember to dip it in oil and grind. occansionally relubricating the stone. once you're close to where you want it stop coz the grinds are going to be somewhere like 30 grit. if you got a dremel then hook up the 80 grit and start smoothing it out. when the scratches look about the same which means you took out all the deep scratches from the stone go to a lighter sand paper like 120 or 220 and do the same thing. once your done with that it should be good enough but if you want to be anal like i was... i'd put a polishing wheel on it and polish it until you're happy with it.
