TurboXS test pipe woes

I'm having the worst luck with my first mod. I severely damaged the threads on two bolts connecting the factory down pipe to the catalytic converter. I tried to find replacements at the local hardware only to find out that the 10mm 1.25 pitch thread is ubber rare!. I'm left with the decision to drill out the the dammaged threads on the welded nut and replace with longer bolts and a nut. I'm assuming by me living in a Michigan with very salty roads, rust must have been escalated.

I purcahsed a complete TurboXS down pipe with test pipe. I am not going to even try to install the down pipe based on my bolt ordeal with the test pipe. I don't have enough post to start a for sale thread for the never installed down pipe. If any one want the down pipe, I'm willing to cut my loses and sell shipped to your door for $150.00. I do appolize moderators for breaking rules but a 10% donation will be promptly paid if sold.

it's a $10 donation i hope you know... not 10%... although i'm sure no one will complain about 10%. Anyway, those bolts are a bitch. I had to ask a guy in my school to get me on a lift at his dad's dealership and the mechanic there helped get the bolts off. Right tools makes a huge difference.

If you have a DP to install, take the whole thing out and just find new screws. Don't go through the hassle of drilling out bolts if you don't have too

Those pipes are REALLY sexy lookin

$150 for downpipe + test pipe or just the down pipe?

Pictures make it seem like both.

And...ughhhh...i would donate QUICK...its only 10 bucks

I believe that you should hold off on the sale and install that part.

You bought it to enjoy, a minor amount of effort will get it installed and working the way it should.

I hope everything works out for you.

I'm in Saginaw MI. I understand what most are saying by not giving up on the down pipe install. But the more videos I watch and listen too, both down pipe and test would be way too loud for my subdivsion. I really did'nt realize how much of a difference in sound a catless down pipe makes. I guess I'm guilty of a little impulse buying or jumping on the mod wagon prematurely. So yes the down pipe is still for sale.

I'll take it!

To AddiktedtoBoost: I just donated $10.00 to the cause and I'm still unable to respond to pms. Not sure if it takes a while for moderators to lift restrictions but any way my paypal address is kneecouqdah@yahoo.com
Already boxed and ready for sending out. Not sure if UPS will be open Monday but if they are box will be shipped.

SOLD, thanks for bailing me out. Not happy with jerry rigging. Never would feel 100% about the rigging. I'll stop now while I'm ahead and just go with the test pipe. I looked at the bolts leading to the down pipe and the condition of bolts look as bad as the cat.
Once again thanks

Good luck with the TP install as well. Remember PB blaster and a breaker bar is your friend. If you can manage to get to a lift, that'd help you out a ton.
