Default Changing the Fog Lamps

I'm going to replace the OEM white fogs with yellows tomorrow, but I can't figure out how to get to them. Do I go in from underneath, or from behind in the wheel well?

underneath, take the undertray off in the front. opening the wheel well will give you some extra room too. taking the bumper off would be the easiest and takes 10 mins

i went in from under. i had to jack it up to see what i was doing, but once it's up it's super simple. there are just 4 or 5 bolts, 8mm i think, holding on the small part of undertray. the bulb housing just twists into place..

I went in from underneath and the only thing I had to do to make it easier was removed one of the two horns and let it dangle out of the way. Pics will follow later, when it's dark out.

OK, here are a couple of the install pics. This is MS6-specific, since the MS3 has a different setup under there, with a faggy little girl horn.

First off, starting with the passenger side, remove the four screws holding the small portion of the undertray on. That is connected to the wheel well liner, so just bend it back out of the way, rather than removing the whole thing.

This shows the horn that needs removed. Sorry for my finger getting in the way, but it's the more forward of the two horns. Just remove that nut and let the horn dangle. Then you can get your hand up to the back of the fog light. This is on the PASSENGER SIDE. The driver's side had nothing getting in the way -- reached right up to the back of the fog light.

This one shows the back of the passenger side fog light. The fitting simply rotates counter-clockwise and then pops out.

I'll post pics of the yellow fogs in a couple of hours, once it's dark outside.

Yeah, yeah. I did it in hopes that they will actually serve as FOG LIGHTS when it's foggy. THe white is the worst or second-worst color for cutting through water vapor, while the yellow is the best, so we'll see if it's better.

I had the same dilemma. I ended up going hid 3500k, and they're awesome. Useful, amber yellow. I felt like the 6000k was too much, for me and for my fellow motorists.

There are a few threads where people have posted pics of yellow hids, me included... Search it up, I'm too lazy to find the link. It helped me make my mind up.

Yeah, this wasn't an appearance mod for me. It was functional -- to see better in bad weather.

It's a great read and cleared up that misconception for me, too.

Yellow looks better because our eyes hate blue.

It is actually a little dimmer, but because it reflects less and our eyes see it better, it's better for bad weather.

I changed only the bulbs and did so using Kokya Arctic Yellow bulbs ordered off Amazon.com.

It's better all-around to have 3500k lights (though I think 4000-4500k looks better aesthetically.)

Better for oncoming traffic, better for reduced glare, less-apparent fog, much better in the snow (you don't get that WTF BRIGHT SNOW! thing going on,) and so-on.

If/when I get my HID's setup the way I want, I can't see me going over 4,300k for normal lows.

Ya ill prob go with a close to stock color for lows most likely a 4500k, but I'm doin the TRS lenses and projectors at the same time if I'm going to do it. I dunno if I like the look of mismatching lights, like 3000k fogs and 4500k lows. Looks funky too me

For visibility's sake, you'd be better off with 3500-4000k.

Less blue light = reduced perception of glare.
