Default KW v3 rear shock help

Ok, really basic question, but I can't find an answer anywhere.

When installing the rear shocks for the KW v3, do I reuse the stock bump stops?
Right now i have the KW v3, with its yellow foam, then the stock black foam on top, then the OEM top hat and installed. I think I need to go back and remove the stock black bumpstop so that the top hat sits directly on the KW's yellow foam.

Thoughts? Any risks to having the "extended" bumpstops? THanks.

Correct. The only OEM part reused is the upper shock mount.

If it were me I'd change out right away.
