Default MS6 BC Racing Coils

Hey everyone!

Question for all my MS6 friends - is anyone running with the BC Racing Coilovers and have pictures they could share of the ride height?

I have H&R Lowering springs installed now, and I like the look, but now that I am stationed in England the roads really don't appreciate me being so low... The speed humps here are killing me... Like an idiot I left the stock springs in storage in the states and can't get to them for the next few years.

I need something that brings my ride height up some, and I saw the BC coils, but is there a different setup I should look at? I read through the sticky's but its hard for me to visualize the ride height without some pictures of peoples setups.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Did you think about ride quality before posting this?

Go OEM springs or bust (based on your description of road quality), plus it will be cheaper.

The roads aren't of poor quality, in fact for the most part they are amazing, they just have speed humps all over the place. So I am really looking for something (as far as ride height goes) that is between stock and the H&R lowering springs.

Of course ride quality is something to consider too, but honestly it doesn't concern me as much as scraping the top of these humps. There are 8 sets of them in just the 3 miles from my house to the base where I work... But they are different than speed bumps in the states, as long as you are far enough off the ground you barely have to slow down.

The only reason I was looking at coils was to kill two birds really, the drivers side rear shock is starting to give up, and a small crack is developing in the passenger side front as well. If there is a better spring/shock setup that will work then I would be more than happy with that too. Its my DD first, not a race car, but there are about a dozen tracks within an hour of my house that have track days constantly so when it warms up next spring I do hope to track it a few times.

There are no spring options for the MS6 worth purchasing that put you in the middle of H&R & OEM. Autoexe makes a set of springs that fit that bill, but are $600. Pairing those with a set of Bilstein B6's for around $450 would be the way to go. I have seen OEM springs for sale on MSF for under $80 shipped. You could remove a coil yourself and is exactly what I plan on doing.

I believe the BC Racing coils are not the best out there for this platform in terms of durability and effectiveness of adjustment, i.e. when put on a shock dyno, the adjustments did jack shit to the performance of the shocks. When I was searching for springs, it seemed that the consensus was that the H&R coils were the ones to go with if you didn't want to slam the car. The H&R coils use Bilstein shocks, so that is definitely a huge plus in my book.

Have a looksie at this thread over at 6club: H7R vs BC coils
