Default New brakes for the MS6 today (pics)

Did the brakes today, had 51,000 miles on the stock fronts... do I win for longest life on the front brakes? Anyway, spent some cash, got slotted DBA rotors and GranSport ceramic pads all from tirerack. Put about 20 miles on them, they are silent so far and feel good. Also painted the ugly stock calipers while I was there, black. The DBA's look sweet for sure. I wanted to do the TSB for the clicking in the front, but didnt have all the tools I needed, so I guess it will be done later.

OH on a side not, I tried the new armorall wheel protectant stuff, last saturday I took the front wheels off the cars, cleaned them really good inside and out and drove all week, 8 days, about 200+ miles and the wheels still looked clean and bright silver, almost no brake dust. Amazing stuff...anyone sick of brake dust, I highly recommend it. There is a pic of the untouched 8 day wheel in these pics. Enjoy.

Just replaced my stock pads and rotors @ 57K miles. There was nothing left...

I guess it really shows that a lot of those miles are "Highway Miles"

It wasnt cheap... about $475 for everything. the rotors are about $150 each, which I think is a great deal, but the pads were $175...which is highway robbery...but if you read the reviews for them, they might just be worth it.

I think if I would have waited, I may have made it to 55K miles...but then I would have hit metal.

$475 for just the front axles? Ouch. For another hundred you could've went EBC all around front and back.

When I upgraded my brake pads, I went EBC reds all the way around...not having to clean my wheels off every other day was worth the extra $$.

Getting close to 59K on the stock brakes, probably time to do something similar myself. I like those rotors.

yeah...the rear brakes look like they will make it to 100K miles...which is likely when this car will find a new home.

Thanks man! they are 235/40/18 hankook rs-2's all the way around... I really think the extreme offset and spoke design of these wheels really set off the cars look nicely. My favorite mod by far.

The rotors are well worth the money...they look fantastic and work awesome. the pads though, while they are working great, no noise, no humming, no dust... still $175 for pads? Kinda nuts... but I said what the hell.

$475 for just the fronts? HOLY SHIT!

I'm looking at doing the following this winter:

Signature Series Plain Front Rotors: $136.00 (pair)
Hawk HPS Fronts: $68.00
Hawk HPS Rears: $53.00
Technafit SS Lines: $89.00
Machine rear OEM rotors: $16.00 (base auto hobby shop)
Superblue brake fluid (if compatible, from Amazon): $13.99

All total, that's $400 for all new fronts, new rear pads, AND SS brake lines.

Is "Technafit SS Lines:" for MS6 a direct fit? I heard somewhere that it needs some type of special installation to make it work perfect otherwise it is proned to leak....

i did just did front and rear pads @ 58k - i got them from the stearlership...except my friend works there so i get the employee discounts on everything i need ( $78 for the front $55 for rear)... you know how we have that feature where it lets you know when your brakes are worn... did the noise stop on yours after you changed the pads? i don't get any noise at all from the drivers side but i def hear something on the passenger side... i don't even know what the sensor or whatever it is looks like. Its annoying.
