Stiffer Springs that do NOT lower
2 Attachment(s)
I've searched far and wide for this answer, but haven't had much luck...

Almost everyone wants to lower their car. I want stiffer springs, but do not want to go lower than the rear @ OEM. This is my DD, and I sometimes have to drive down dirt roads, roads with pot holes, etc., and the car is already low enough.

So my suspension is all original OEM (92k miles) except for the Shocks/Struts, which I got Koni STR.T. I regret not getting the yellows, long story, but it is what it is at the point.

I want to get springs that are 5-15% stiffer than stock when they were new to compensate for my wider tires/wheels and get me stiffness close to the OEM setup.

The Eibeichs, Corksports, and most others I see that are stiffer also lower the car. Currently, my front wheel well as about an inch more gap than the rear. I'd prefer them even, and would like them to both fall in the current range. I've attached pictures of where it is right now.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe brand new OEM springs is what you need. I plan to do that as I don't want to get it any lower too.

Coilovers or custom springs are your only hope.

Thanks guys.

That's kind of what I was afraid of. Buy new OEM, or go custom.

I believe my wheel's offset is too positive for most coil overs, so I'd need spacers, which I'd prefer not to do.

I haven't researched custom, I wonder how crazy the cost gets...

Just a quick update...

I've decided to go all out. I want the suspension to be better than new at this point, so I'm going to start researching all the various options. I plan on replacing the strut/shocks and selling my STR.R's, which are barely used, while also replacing springs, end links, bushings, top hats, bump stops, etc.

I'll just have to start reading through and getting a parts list together. Going to stay at less than a 1 inch drop and hope the stiffer springs offset the drop enough.
