My car is nothing special a decent engine built ,full interior with 2 front light bucket seats,26/8.5.15 MH slicks ,4 oem injectors + direct meth 4 d03 nozzles and a gtx3071 at 30psi.

I`m open to your comments.......

The engine built was done from GTR racing & tuning

The ecu tuning was made from re-action engineering

When do u get full power ? 2nd? Or 3rd? And how much dialed down are the first 2 gears ? (Assuming they are , or at least 1st )

I start the car with full power from 1st, but i use an electronic boost controller (greddy profec b)so i have set it at duty cycles it needs to hold the 30psi till redline,i also do not have reduced load at 1st or 2nd gear, so in the track at 1st hold about 17psi(because of a small spining) at 2nd gear holds about 24psi when i hook to 3rd then the 30psi makes there job ...

rodrigo 06-03-2014 06:41 AM

Straight ganstah then .... Very old skool of you .... Very nice man ... Great job , u certainly have enough to run a 10.9 as is if u start dialing in the car on the front half . That track any good for prep or they just sweep it and let u guys slip and slide ?

The track is a military airport that they rent it for weekend and make drag races, they put some glue for the first 80m-100m and thats all .....

In my own defense, my gen 1 was hit and before it was, our tracks were closed as the 3076 was in it during winter.

I have to swap over the 3076 to my pu and I'll admit, I need to get cracking on that.

I want to focus on helping a few locals out first and then it's my turn.

And tuner won't make me a track map LOL

My car makes 460whp on a tuff dyno I estimate on a dynojet I'm around 500whp ...so I guess with my car weights at 3000pounds (1360kg) and the good powerband I have it is acceptable to trap 127....

ps I have a gtx3071....

If u look at the guys that actually use their cars efficiently (I can think of about 2 off the top of my head ) 330ish will yield 114mph with 150lbs or so off .... The basic rule of 1 mph per 10 hp still basically applies and his trap speeds of 127-128 show around 460-470whp on a fully used powerband with I'm betting at least 3k lbs of vehicle weight .

Now is 460-470whp possible on a 3071 with head work and crap ? I assume if teddy is at mid 500s with one size up seems on par .... This guy has just figured out how to put all that power down out of the hole without backpedaling and I assume his logs will show a lesser drop in boost between gears as well .

I'll stick to my original observation and say this isn't a horsepower issue any longer , this is simply a figure out how to put down the power as quickly as you can one and seat seat seat time one instead .

That mph will yield 10s with high 1.5s which is only .100 off what a 330whp ms3 can do with solid skill

Ahh, i was only thinking 7000 rpm, and wasnt accouting for the tire height.

26" is stock tire height... but i wonder about going up to like a 28" or something to get a little more stretch from each gear. May have a hard time clearing it, and the tuning may be a little funky, but it could work wonders in the lower gears.

Boostin'likeAboss 06-03-2014 10:31 AM

probably overall pushed to the limit. i saw a 123 trap from a gt3071 at 4500ft asl with 26-27psi and 18.5 degrees of timing at 6500.

a 26" tall thin walled slick will grow a lil over 27" at triple digits keep that in mind ....Bryce (lumberjack) fit 27x9x15 m&h with no issues reported as of yet also .....

keep in mind tire width in drag racing is secondary to sidewall height always

Derp, i'm thinking 28" radial which doesnt flex. You'd think i drive a mustang or something :smashfreakB:

Om nom back from lunch.

Discussed here for keeping it in 4th gear with these ~500whp+ cars. This 11.41 just might've snuck into 11.2x without that extra shift and been the new MZR record holder.

Maybe someone can help him take advantage of higher revs so he doesn't have to tranny swap.

A proficient driver powershifting won't lose beyond 1/10th on the 4-5th shift ...... It would def help to avoid that but this car has plenty left at the start to achieve a high 10 with suspension and launch dialing in .... 2/10ths on the 60ft alone is what I would aim for ... That in turn yields additional traction by the 330ft and so forth .... Yeah would be easier if the car trapped 135 but IMO it's more fun dialing in with limited power than waste hp down the track .

alaskazero 06-03-2014 02:17 PM
