ms3blackmica 06-03-2014 08:51 AM

BTW @RE-ACTIONENGSPEED3; your times are mighty impressive especially for what we consider to be on the smaller spectrum of BT upgrades!

Major props to you.

That was an awesome pass.

udntknw 06-03-2014 08:53 AM

That elevation doe! 30ft asl!

just tapa it in.

12blkms3 06-03-2014 09:14 AM

At this rate the platform will be in the 9s in no time. Congratulations on the pass

Great................

Gen1 has the title again.

If u look at the guys that actually use their cars efficiently (I can think of about 2 off the top of my head ) 330ish will yield 114mph with 150lbs or so off .... The basic rule of 1 mph per 10 hp still basically applies and his trap speeds of 127-128 show around 460-470whp on a fully used powerband with I'm betting at least 3k lbs of vehicle weight .

Now is 460-470whp possible on a 3071 with head work and crap ? I assume if teddy is at mid 500s with one size up seems on par .... This guy has just figured out how to put all that power down out of the hole without backpedaling and I assume his logs will show a lesser drop in boost between gears as well .

I'll stick to my original observation and say this isn't a horsepower issue any longer , this is simply a figure out how to put down the power as quickly as you can one and seat seat seat time one instead .

That mph will yield 10s with high 1.5s which is only .100 off what a 330whp ms3 can do with solid skill

γειά σου φίλε! Congratulations and nicely done! What part of Greece are you in? I still have a lot of family in Athens, Crete and Tripoli...

Jtaylor 06-03-2014 09:39 AM

Damn, nice work

JgamB 06-03-2014 09:52 AM

Smokin fast - very impressive! Now get rid of that GenDone trans so you can avoid that 4-5 shift!

He's trapping almost 130 lol... how far do you think the Gen 2 4th gear goes?

Nishan had some napkin math showing ~134 I think it was w/ 26" slicks and 7500 rpm. I might be wrong, but I'm about to head to lunch and not going to search for the post!:boobies:

Ahh, i was only thinking 7000 rpm, and wasnt accouting for the tire height.

26" is stock tire height... but i wonder about going up to like a 28" or something to get a little more stretch from each gear. May have a hard time clearing it, and the tuning may be a little funky, but it could work wonders in the lower gears.

Boostin'likeAboss 06-03-2014 10:31 AM

why is no one doing this kind of stuff with the speed6 lol :17:

probably overall pushed to the limit. i saw a 123 trap from a gt3071 at 4500ft asl with 26-27psi and 18.5 degrees of timing at 6500.

good job and nice driving. the race for 10s continues to speed up...

a 26" tall thin walled slick will grow a lil over 27" at triple digits keep that in mind ....Bryce (lumberjack) fit 27x9x15 m&h with no issues reported as of yet also .....

keep in mind tire width in drag racing is secondary to sidewall height always

Derp, i'm thinking 28" radial which doesnt flex. You'd think i drive a mustang or something :smashfreakB:

Downmented 06-03-2014 11:36 AM

Great job, fantastic driving. Keep pushing and get those times down. You seem to have a very efficient setup mixed with a great driver.

Keep up the good work.

JgamB 06-03-2014 11:39 AM

Om nom back from lunch.

Discussed here for keeping it in 4th gear with these ~500whp+ cars. This 11.41 just might've snuck into 11.2x without that extra shift and been the new MZR record holder.

Maybe someone can help him take advantage of higher revs so he doesn't have to tranny swap.

simply_pandora 06-03-2014 11:58 AM

Congrats! Very happy to see a first gen claim the top spot! Great job!

This is my only sad part, not the location, I liked a pu sitting on top. Payback for the years of smile jokes lol.

But fantastic run, good job!

A proficient driver powershifting won't lose beyond 1/10th on the 4-5th shift ...... It would def help to avoid that but this car has plenty left at the start to achieve a high 10 with suspension and launch dialing in .... 2/10ths on the 60ft alone is what I would aim for ... That in turn yields additional traction by the 330ft and so forth .... Yeah would be easier if the car trapped 135 but IMO it's more fun dialing in with limited power than waste hp down the track .

alaskazero 06-03-2014 02:17 PM

Awesome job man! impressive!!

Well said, I've always preferred putting the power you have to use.

just tapa it in.

That's the way it should be. Lots of fast cars lurking as we speak

Matrix311 06-03-2014 04:04 PM

Nice work man! What is your tire setup? I'm guessing slicks to gain that traction. Regardless thats awesome work.

Tokay444 06-03-2014 04:04 PM

Find me a short block so I can hais fast car of my own.

Etipp98 06-03-2014 04:05 PM
