wow man this is awesome!! YOUR THE BEST, get in those 10's!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

Koenig 11-23-2011 01:16 AM

I'm jealous.... Congrats on the run, it's nice to see the Speed6s finally putting down the worth they're capable of. Especially on a stock block. I'm hoping I will eventually get into the 11s myself. Of course my car has 97k, I don't know if the stock block will hold LOL.

whoosh@Realtune 11-23-2011 04:43 AM

congrats man!

that's fucking bad ass!!!!!!

good job!

NT01'S OR 555R'S?

NT01's are not drag radials. They're road racing tires.

WhoIsJeremy 11-23-2011 08:42 AM

Yeah, stay away from the NT01s unless you're trying to road course.

You want the NT05R!

GLORIFIEDBOZO 11-23-2011 08:46 AM

Fucking nice bro!!!

Nitto makes some really great tire. I had just the Nitto NT05 but DAMMMMN that tire grips. A guy I know running the NT01 says they are some of the best he's used. Great heating cycles and don't grease up.

OP or qtrmile beast if u really wanna do it right as a drag application look into those Mickey Thompsons. I still think the Hooiser QTP's have their place for the Speed 6 though. Just figure if u want the trap or E/T. I'd even look into small brake kits if u wanna really shed that weight lol

doubleflusher 11-23-2011 08:57 AM

The minimum width on the NT05 is 275.

NT555R in 245/45-17 is what I'm running on the street.

WhoIsJeremy 11-23-2011 09:07 AM

Idk what rim size he's using but the NT05s come in 225/40/18. I thinkg Chalres has 19" wheels, but idk the width. Mickey Thompson cheaters are always nice too!

Since you mentioned it, the stock front axles are pretty beefy but if anyone would be interested I can send mine to DSS since they're out of the car for a while. They already make a set for the rear, don't know if we'd even need an upgraded front set or not. Mine are just chillin in the garage for now.

I'm gonna be doing this when my car is done. 10" Willwood small brake kit so I can run some 15" drag wheels.

I was looking at the NT05R's.

Unless it has the R, it's a poopoo tire

WhoIsJeremy 11-23-2011 09:41 AM

haha looks like these kids need some wider tires

but does the R actually stand for R compound? Maybe some sort of blend of R?

think I'll try those Hancook r-s3s anthony was talking about...

Don't forget Drivers time was at almost 3000 ft asl.

It would be interesting to see what his car is capable of at sea level.
Either way id love to see them do it.

Dano 11-23-2011 11:48 AM

that's why I had my money on anthony...;)

nothing against you anthony :)

...what? not sure what you're talkin bout.

superskaterxes 11-23-2011 01:51 PM

i never understood why people run DR's. sure you can drive to the track on them but the difference in traction compared to a true slick is night and day.

Darksun280 11-23-2011 01:59 PM

Dr's wheel hop and break shit aswell.

Meh that honestly depends on the set-up next year we will be running 5-5.3 1/8 mile times on DR next season. And I prefer the radials to a soft ass sidewall slick. We even ran stiffer sidewall slicks and it just wasn't good enough for me. As far as traction goes, I had to tighten my front end limiters to keep the nose down on the radials because we had more bite than we did on slicks.

Also, damn good time. Congrats on the pass.

We are gonna find out soon enough. YOu can count on 2-3mph with no changes. Both my srt and evo gained 2mph at sac and 3mph at woodburn. How cool would it be to trap 125. It takes about 425whp in an srt to do it so Im thinking 450whp would get me there with some weight out. 25psi should get me real close on q16.

So you ready to roll Austin??

who cares? Both anthonys' are fast

dougefresh_ 11-24-2011 08:57 PM

Congrats bro!! That's awesome!! Glad you finally busted that bitch. How much add'l timing did you gain out of 30% corn juice? I'm thinking of sneaking some of that shit in once I tape my car back together.

From Cobb's Site:

The stock wheels are painted green and the car weighed in at the track at 3655 lbs. with a gutted interior and driver.
Sounds like both the you and the car were gutted, lol

jracer 11-25-2011 12:33 PM

@superskaterxes . on your LC what are your settings ? whats your speed limiter hysteresis set at ?

MSP611 12-05-2011 01:10 PM

this is fucking awesome full of win!!!! i almost have a broner right now.... congrats skates and let the race to 10s commence

is this the fastest speed now??? cuz pat ran a 11.65 and driver ran a 11.7 and doubleflusher a 11.91.... so i think tht makes him the fastest speed!!! correct me if im wrong.

After seeing Whoosh's post with no one else but one mentioning him, I had to make a post!

Thank you whoosh for REALLY paving the MazdaSpeed platform to what it is today. I used to follow your posts on the other boards from beginning 'till end. Was extremely sad when you left!

And congrats skater. Still rocking those green wheels I see! I can't find it in your signature, what clutch are you exactly running?

Is this stock internals? My mind is blown if it is. How is this block handling it? That's beyooonnd me.

Happy modding!

yes stock block lol

and many props to whoosh, people forget too quickly who REALLY paved the way for this platforms success.....

SpeedSixxx 12-08-2011 02:55 PM

i'm sorry, from what i remember Whoosh said fuck off to all and got himself a PI car.

He may have done a lot but it's more due to ppl like DJ, Kmac, Skaters, lex, phate and others.

what was accomplished when Whoosh left?.. oh yeah 360 whp

what was the reason why Whoosh left, 360 whp and going nowhere....

I'm sure he was a nice guy and helped out a lot with his egr block off plate and larger diameter injectors but what else?...

I'd like to see the REAL guys who REALLY PAVED the way for our platform be recognized and not forgotten.

give whoosh credit for what he did but paved the way for... not really.

what has been accomplished since he left..

stock block 500+whp... and counting

crazy fuel pressure

in the 11's and the 10's are around the corner.

sure, anyone can ditch this "hard" platform and get a PI car and go 10's in his first 6 months of owning it.

sorry for the "rant".
