So how about that dead hook video lol |

It's not the best video and you can't see that much of the dead hook, but you can watch Teddy's hands fighting with the steering wheel. |
Lol wow this post made me happy. Congrats dude!! |
I don't need to say much here that you don't already know. I always said you were the one putting us out there on the map. I'm just happy that I could have helped in any way. The best part is, you aren't even done. ENM was just a "feeler" pass. :) |
still cut a 1.74 swerving |
Anytime brotha. Looking at the one slip on the first page you gave away a ton on the tree. Not a huge deal but you know. If you can rock a 1.5x 60 foot that should be able to drop you sub 5.x big time in the 330. I did hear it in the video, so that should be something with more seat time you can clear up. You gained about 27 MPH on the top end from the 1/8 to the 1/4 in speed. So that should only get better with better boost control. You start to get 30+MPH you will be in the 10s. Just out of curiosity you aren't logging anything via a standalone logger are you? I really want COBB to get traction control for boost through the ABS sensors. That would be so nice. Jason |

Gotcha. Lol |
Justin, Yes what Teddy said is part of it. The other part of it is watch Teddy launch off the line. Basically the car is not moving. There are basically two standard "forms" of staging a car: Shallow Deep There are a pair of Amber bulbs to indicate pre stage. There a pair of bulbs to indicate stage. These pairs are ok both sides of the tree (one for each lane). Now there is about a 6-8" roll out distance between these two sets of indicator lights. If you go shallow meaning to just barely start to flicker and activate the stage lights after the pre stage lights. If you deep stage you will actually put the pre stage bulbs out and only the stage bulbs will remain lit. Now what this means is that when you shallow stage you can actually train yourself to leave a little sooner than normal, thus giving you a "rolling start." When you deep stage it will show in your ET but basically give you about a 8-10" head start. Jason |
Well fuck me. All these years, and now someone finally tells me. Jason you sir continue to amaze me with your immense knowledge of drag racing. Talking with you on the phone humbles me. And makes me feel a bit more retarded after. <3 |

I was talking about the motors. |
If he was an auto car I'd say yeah but a car that has to slip out the hole imo needs that roll out for getting the car moving before the actual time count starts. For example in this vid see how much I was moving before the guy next to me but I didn't red light. That's cause I had the extra room to get the car rolling. You deep stage and your car/driving style isn't setup so the car just moves "Auto car/Sprayed auto car" you are basically doing a bunch of nothing while the time counts. |
All i saw was you losing lol. <3 |
People been sleeping on Jason since he joined. I gave up trying to get him involved. He has a Honda...he can't know anything. LOL. Thanks Jason. I need to educate myself on drag racing so I can be of more help to Teddy. |

With the deep staging and the shallow staging, I've been using that ever since I started racing. With deep staging, your ET and trap will be slower by as much .2-.3 seconds. With shallow staging, Your ET and trap speed will better as well as your 60ft since you have that 6"-8" to get the car rolling before you leave the light beam. When shallow staging you'll notice how your reaction times will be much slower than usual. Once you perfect shallow staging, you'll be able to dominate the tree. |

Ryan, You are correct about the time increments. That is what I was trying to quickly show the difference between the two previously. His or anyone's for that matter time will improve from shallow staging immediately. Remember there are two reaction times in play: Driver Vehicle The reason your time will prove immediately is because you are improving vehicle reaction time by getting that rolling start. The driver reaction time will also improve on time with practice, further lowering your overall ET. Also keep in mind there are two different trees as well: Sportsman on a .500 drop of all the ambers to green Pro on a .400 drop of all the ambers to a green This is for heads up style. If you are bracket style then it is a .500 tree in between each amber dropping, and the last amber to green. Jason |
I need slicks and a clutch damnit! :( I need some 11's out of this ko4 before I give up and join you in the land of the BT's :ms3rick: |

I have a fantastic ACT 6-puck for sale. Only got 5k and 4 drag passes on it! |
http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...psfef1c281.png FWIW, posted above is how I felt last year before Teddy landed his first 11 second pass. To this day, I still feel the same way. Not just about him, but about all my friends in NJ that I help to get faster. With that said, I say, let's put our gloves on and make shit happen this year for the platform. |

I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the CM setup, it's a hefty price but then again, my wife and I both drive this car so I want it to be somewhat live-able. The ACT is just a bit to heavy for her on a street car. She had a bad motorcycle wreck a few years ago and has leg/knee issues. |
