EDIT BRIAN MP5T: After The Results, I decided to reduce confusion by altering the title from 12 Second to 15 Second.

MS3-a(sore)ASS-rex 06-15-2010 12:35 PM

Nobody tracks their speed6's really. I know superskaterxes has gone 12.6 and I'm pretty sure he's the fastest ms6 in the country. Either way good luck hope you make some good passes

phillyb 06-15-2010 12:40 PM

15.2 @ 99

boostntomuch 06-15-2010 12:47 PM

HOW CAN NO ONE TRACK THERE ALL WHEEL DRIVE TURBO CAR WTF. YOU SAY NO ONE TRACKS THE MS3. LOL DRRR

8.5MS3 06-15-2010 12:51 PM

16.3@94

i predict several botched launches followed by a slipping clutch

superskaterxes 06-15-2010 01:06 PM

lol i ran a 13.4 @ 100 with TBE and MBC

trickytwelveinch 06-15-2010 01:11 PM

You'll run a: DNF (Did not finish)

you're going to lose control during your launch and smash into the divider.

xcoldricex 06-15-2010 01:12 PM

why the fuck is this thread named 12 sec clan.

ThEsHoCkEr 06-19-2010 11:20 PM

14.5, 14.3, 14.0 and then 13.7 @ 102 after frying the clutch trying to launch an AWD car

buttons 06-21-2010 02:28 PM

I went to the track yesterday with my speed 6. it was 74F degrees a small headwind.

Current mods:
Fujita CAI, Cobb AP stage 2 93, 3" test pipe, 3" catback, rear motor mount, jbarone shifter plate (needs adjustment)

My first pass was 16.1@92.4mph, 15.7@92.7, 15.5@94.5mph and my last run 15.0@97mph What i noticed was the TMIC heatsoaks REALLY REALLY BAD while waiting in line for your turn to race. My best 60' was 2.077 and it felt really good, launched at 4100ish --obviously room for improvement but i value my car getting me from A to B more then getting a better time slip. Car felt really weak at the track. all the way to the track and all the way home it felt normal -- somewhat quick even. My shifter needs adjustment i had a very hard time finding 2nd/3rd gear after jbarone install. i had to granny shift.

My advice: bring ice, leave your hood open until its your turn to get in the burn box freeze that IC... I think a modded speed 6 has the power to weight ratio and traction for 13 second passes but its not going to make it easy on you...

BUNGEEZZ 06-21-2010 02:41 PM

Should have had a Redbull FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread is FULL of fail. First, it's titled "12 SEC CLAN" (WTF?) Then you run a best of a 15.0@97 :sigh1:

I Modified the Title because it will take $15,000+ and two years at the drag strip to reduce a 15 to a 12...

Funkster777 07-05-2010 07:42 PM

That is what buttons did not what boostntomuch did. He never posted his times! I think that he was hoping for a 12 sec run. Since he did not post, it is clear that he did not make it close to this. Fail is right. Man up and post your times.

LMAO.

Brian MP5T 07-05-2010 07:47 PM

^ Agreed, but I stand by my decision to alter the title as there is no way a first time driver will pull off a 12 second pass without killing himself, the clutch or both.

If he pulls a 12 and can prove it, then he can start a new thread and this thread can be closed because it will be truly remarkable and there will be some very interesting discussion about how he was able to get such a great time.

No Hate, Just reality of racing.

Blackrider 07-05-2010 08:01 PM

The only thing that Disappoints more in the car world than the track, is the dyno.

you could drill holes in the airbox on a stock ms6 and run 13s. you sir broke your driver mod. so please dont embarrass the mazdaspeed community any further and never race again.

I didnt even realize i was making excuses. saying im a bad drive would ALSO be an excuse too! at least im man enough to post my REAL times, which is more then 90% of you can say.

Anyone in the greater grand rapids area can run my car down US131 dragway or mid michigan motorplex if they pay for gas, if you break 14.00 i will yell from the nearest mountain top im the worst driver in the world.

Last week i went to a different track and ran a 14.65@97.97mph cut a few 1.9 60's. launch control set to 4000 rpms. My 14.65 pass was not my best launch but it was my best overall time. What troubles me the most is my 1/8 mile mph is really low 71mph. comparing to other cars that are trapping around 98mph they seem to be around 75-76mph.

Im really curious what the OP ran, im guessing after going to the track he was to embarrassed to come back.

Amazon 07-06-2010 03:41 PM

Dude, you shouldn't be double clutching while you're granny shifting, you have to granny first, then carefully ease in the double clutching. You should at least pull off a mid 13 sec pass if you do this correctly.

CCC 07-06-2010 04:51 PM

We're just messin with you, at least you had the balls to post numbers like that. I just don't get it though, with those mods a 14 flat should be easy. The times you were talkin originally sounded like a stock Si that stalled on its launch and had to start back up before he could go. I'd love to take you up on your offer out of curiosity, but I live in Florida. I've never driven a ms6 but I would think in 3 runs with those mods you have I could defiantly get under a 14.

Funkster777 07-06-2010 10:38 PM

I'll take you up on the run. I curious on how it drives differently than mine.

haha awesome! make this happen. what have you run in your ms6 before?

Funkster777 07-07-2010 12:23 PM

Best run was 14.5 @ 94 mph. This was my first time at the track. Only has CAI & short shifter.

CCC 07-07-2010 12:58 PM

hm 14.5 isn't very good either, but you have less (real) mods on your car than him, and you now have a run under your belt, so I would hope you could break 14 in his car. If not fail for the both of you.

SB.MS3 07-07-2010 01:37 PM

idk 13.9 is very good for a intake only ms3. so 14.5 isnt THAT bad. should be low 14s.

but only intake + bad track conditions= :banghead:

Funkster777 07-07-2010 03:15 PM

Temps were in the high 80s. Lots of time spent on track clean up. Again first time racing. I'll take suggestions for better times.

SB.MS3 07-07-2010 10:42 PM

i was trying to say you didnt do too bad for your virgin run. launching the car isnt the easiest thing to do. get some practice and you should shave off that .5

another thing to think about is how to hold boost when you shift gears, do it quick, and your rpm should already be rising when you let off the clutch, so you will be building boost. its a little harder on the clutch, but your times will be quicker.

Funkster777 07-08-2010 01:24 PM

Thanks I'll work on this.

BUNGEEZZ 07-20-2010 01:30 PM

when my car was stocki ran constant 14.6-14.7 at 97mph with a 2.160ft( Bogging launch)
lmfaooo.

Im yet to go with the new setup, im actually looking very forward to it. if i can get a donation thing going then i shall go =) lol
