I'm running on Saturday. Tomorrow is dyno tuning with Dustin. I'll be posting up results even though the numbers won't be accurate

Is he going to dyno as well? Side by side numbers would be great!

Kydizzle 02-25-2011 12:02 AM

SgtP 02-25-2011 12:19 AM

race gas in CA is expensive as shit!! I miss the east coast. It was cheaper there.

qtrmile beast 02-25-2011 10:12 AM

Well i just recieved my rear diff mount yesterday (BIG THANKS TO CULLEN AND HALTECH ON THIS ONE)!!! I am going to do a complete write up on it after i am done. I am also added my AEM 3.5 map and i am about to order a WOTBOX so i can see how much better i can do with a two step and boost out of the hole. I also am looking into some LIGHTER wheels and a few other lightweight parts as i want to get down to 3200 full interior!! After that it will be dyno time and then off to the track once more for a definite 11sec pass!!! track opens in 1 more week so i hope to be there in about 2 no later then 3..

11cruzito11 02-25-2011 10:26 AM

How much does a MS6 weight? I thought the MS6 weight almost ~3600?

predapio 02-25-2011 10:26 AM

You should do a "write" up too.

I hope you drive better than you spell 1/4.

DOH..

I heard Pacific, Bremerton and Evergreen raceways had/has race gas pumps. Also call Speedware, Pina Motorsports and some 76 stations, especially stations near race tracks. There is a Trick Racing gas at North Auburn way (76 gas) and Trick Racing at Puyallup Heat N Gas, a lot of VP's and Toro, Blue Racing fuels, Sunco Racing gas at Pacific Raceways.

Call around at those places to see if any have race gas.

normal stuff:

spare tire -- 45 lbs
jack-- 10 lbs
TBE -----60 lbs!!!
wheels-- 8lbs per corner
brembo brakes- not sure on the exact weight difference yet but i believe the calipers were about 3-5lbs ligher and the rotors were about 1-2lbs lighter
ACT clutch assy---30lbs
factory hood scoop 10-14 lbs
engine components lbs/grams ????
It might be other things but i can't think of them right now. But more of you guys that have a turbo back exhaust with the spare and jack removed should be about 3410-3440 alone!!!

Buy a pair of rear doors and a passenger door from a regular 6. Gut them. That will save you upwards of 150lbs. Rip out the bumper supports, passenger seat and rear seats. You will trim more weight there than everything you listed.

I didn't check, but does Orlando have his K1's still? Those are your best bet

jwilkins88 02-26-2011 10:23 PM

Fucking fail. We got rained on, so they wrapped everything up, but I couldn't get my 60' down low enough. My best 60' of the night was a 2.03.

My best run was a 12.5 @ 118.

Things that I need to change:

LC - I was fucking bogging on every launch basically. It sucked dick. I need to raise it a tad bit.

Spark blowout - I was getting spark blowout in 1st from 5-6k. I need to revisit this and get it fixed.

The car felt fuckin' great once I got out of first. I'll post up vids and slips later.

TL; DR - I fucking suck and 11s still elude the mazdaspeeds

Joel that is a really good time IMHO, for your first time at the track not bad at all, we were all hoping youd run 11's. It takes a bit of getting used to launching slicks at the track vs launching street tires on the street. Do be all down about it, next time at the track will be better. Enjoy getting trashed tonight!

bewsted 02-26-2011 10:49 PM

Hey joel fuck you and your fucking 450 whp fucking beastmode ms3....i mean wtf you rock dude,,,glad to see you beat lenny on your first try! LOL

Just kidding in the first sentence.

I'm not going to thank your post until you succeed you asshole. You have the trap to do this easily get your shit together.

Gap your plugs down to 28
Change your LC to like 5k-5300
John force Burn out

Profit.........

With that trap your car hauls 11s or not. The MS3 was never really meant to drag race.

sellers 02-27-2011 12:49 AM

Get a little drunk before hand. My best launches are under the influence.

jwilkins88 02-27-2011 01:31 AM

I honestly think that my LC was hurting me more than anything tonight. I had a couple runs that had potential, but I fucked 'em up by missing a gear or some other stupid shit.

I think I would have fared much better if I would have been able to tune at the track. This is the last time I forget my computer.

I'm not going to make any excuses though... A good driver would have run 11s in my car.

qtrmile beast 02-27-2011 08:03 AM

I spent most of the night sweating and waiting to see what you would pull off. Expecting a mid 11@125 or something. Good runs for your first time as this puts you in second place for the fastest speed!!! sixual panda went for his first and pulled a 12.6 in his speed6!!! So once again get those 60s down to about 1.7 or 8 and you should see those magic 11s in no time!!!

Going outside in a few to see if the weather is good enough for me to fix my rear diff mount so I can get back to the track!!!

jwilkins88 02-27-2011 08:10 AM

Yeah man... My fuckin' 60' was killing me

ok guys i believe i discovered the problem with my car as to why i was bogging soo much and ended with a broken rear diff mount. I was installing my new rear diff mount today and discovered that one of my dif mount bolt on the top left hand side was sheared off. I believe that bolt was broken during the last two track sessions and by it bein broken put a lot of weigh on that part of the diff mount thus causing it to keep flexing like a coat hanger and then snap. I think if i had a stock front diff mount then i would have broken that mount long before now due to the extra added flex.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...cture029-1.jpg

So i just installed my new dreadnaught rear diff mount courtesy of haltech and cullen at SURE motorsports. I am doing a write up on this install which should be up really soon.. i have not finished putting the car back together yet as i am installng new sway bar bushings. I might take it all back down and do a rear sway bar whiole i am down there working.

Once i have this stuff done i will get my manifold re welded for right now(getting a new manifold soon) and go back to see if can get my time down before i start turning the boost up.

SgtP 03-01-2011 04:39 AM
