maybe YOUR car didn't gain power from 14-16 degrees (which is bizarre as why would you run 15* if it stopped making power at 14...just goes against general tuning principles) but the ms3 has a timing curve that it loves and thats a bit low...id say ask me how i know...but im lazy

if i were you i would investigate why you are having trouble not running more advance (pending your afrs and octane)...condition of the motor is

Your a fucking idiot. Im not running 15 degrees for one. That was a general area. The gains from 14-16 were very very minimal thus why I run 14.5 max timing. My car makes very good power and my track times will back up my 400whp dyno at only 18psi, just like it did years ago when I was rocking mid 12s on stock turbo while internet racing fags like you were sucking your thumb trying to figure out why Driver could do it and you couldnt. Im running stock block and making killer power on a setup that peeps like you said it couldnt be done on. Thats why I leave my tune where it is. Running really good and thats good enough for me right now. Call me cocky all you want but I do what I say Im gonna do and thats just that. Im far from knowing it all and Im learning everyday but there are only a few peeps making good power on setups like mine and backing it up with fast times at the track. Let me know when you break the 14 second barrier and we will talk.

Ps. There are plenty of guys on here that have gone from 15 degrees all the way up to 20 degrees with little to no gain. So how the fuck do you explain that? My afrs are good at 12.0-12.2 across the board and my fuel trims are spot on. What the fuck else you think Im missing here????? Plus I wasnt saying we should run timing like the srt. I was just giving an example of a platform that is somewhat similar to ours. In no way was I saying they are the same. I know they are not because Ive owned both. And there is no comparison the srt will stomp the dick in the dirt with a speed any day. Just having a discussion and giving examples of my personal experiences. Anyways back on topic.

So when I get that installed and finish installing my meth and install my 3.5 bar map you will see some 1.6 60ft passes.

Also you have to realize I did this time with only 17psi. Hell I was able to a 1.71 (best) on a stock turbo and heavier car!!!! Race season JUST started better times to come!!!
Width definately helps with traction bro but any drag racer will tell you its sidewall and rubber compound that do most the work. Ill take a 225/50/16 bfg g force or dunlop star spec any day over a 245/35. There is no flex in that tire and guaranteed the tires never get warm enough for the compound to start working. Like I said on top of that the skinnier tire will help for sure with trap and knock down weight. Your 60s are good and Im not knocking those at all. Good job on that, but I think you can make up alot on the big end with some 16s or 17 with some sticky rubber. Look forward to the next time your out. 11s are sooo close. I was soo bummed I couldnt make passes this weekend. Oh welll my time will come. HOPEFULLY. LOL

You finished whining yet? Like I said you may be a decent driver (who knows as you run your mouth like you are a highschool kid with something to prove) - but your knowledge is just limited when it comes to tuning. I know it because of the way you talk and because I am friends with people who you call asking for help.

Also - my mazda days are behind me. I had a 12.0 on street tire mazda3 trapping well into the 120s on pump gas. After that had a speed6 that was garbage (motor consumed oil from day 1 - bought it used) and now I have a 335i. I have different priorities now and instead of trying to impress a bunch of people and whine like a little girl - I simply tastefully modded it and run 12.1x @117-118 on street tires (19" all seasons) when I feel like going to the track. That same power is what I drive to the hospital everyday where I do something that actually makes people lives better.

If you want to try and impress people - do something impresisve. Don't run your mouth claiming to be the best or an expert or giving excuses about why its okay to be cocky b/c your the best. You've done nothing different - shit you don't even tune the car yourself - you drive it...

Anyways time to go hang out with my newborn nephew - dude already impresses me more than you lol

Trust me the last thing I wanna do is impress you. LOL Ive never claimed to be an expert tuner or driver, but I can do both and I learn something new every day. Ill never be afraid to admit that. Whos the one trying to impress now Mr. I work at a hospital and drive a bmw that runs 12.1 with "TASTEFUL MODS"? LOL Grow up bro and if you have nothing good to post but drama why are you here again?

Ps. If your gonna post claims of 12.0@120+ on street tires in a speed3 lets see some proof. If you did it, right on, but sounds fishy to me.

Beast what tires are on your 17s? I bet some 225/45 dunlops would rock on those wheels. I kinda wanna stick with 17s on my car for street with some 235 dunlops just cause they are cheap and hook nice. My toyo 235 r888s hook nicely even in 2nd at 18psi, but they are to expensive to burn through on the street. I think they are sold and Im going to run some 245/35/18 hoosiers for autocross this year on my black tenzos and maybe use my 17s for the street. We will see. Also when you going to dyno Beast?

I plan to run some 235/45/17 continental DWs but there are on back order so I might back with my 235/45/17 nitto 555s. Since I have awd my issue with traction is not that big a deal. As for the dyno I am going to address my manifold leaking first and then my mount, meth, and 3.5 bar map so I can up the boost to where I want it and then its dyno time as I want to see what my car is producing as well making sure I have a good tune the next time I go back to the track and not worry about tuning then I can concentrate on the qtrmile!!!

To my knowledge, I don't know that anyone with my power level has actually attempted to track their car on slicks. I could be totally wrong on that, but we'll see.

So i guess until someone hits 11s we will fight like little girls. We should be working together towards a common goal, not bickering. Anyways, I will have a built motor soon and my build should progress rather quickly. The first day at the track with it I promise 11's. I have no idea when my first day will be though.

damn, so much hate going on here. subbed for updates on everyones track days. i should be going to cecil (downhill) this friday, i dont expect to take home an 11 on my current set-up though. the only thing that is different than before is my ported intake mani. meth is still not completely installed and i am planning on eventually running 23psi.. THAT is when i will most likely try to get the 11.. but once i get back from my fairy world, i will most likely expect a mid-low 12. haha

as for the driver guy - it wasn't a speed3 - it was a reg mazda3 with a built bottom and top and a 35r on a built trans with custom ratios on 3rd and 4th...so what do you do at a "hospital" lol

Please dont take this as bragging but i have the fastest speed here and getting that low is not the EASIEST thing to do ESPECIALLY in a speed3 due to traction.... This is one of my goals to get my weight down to where you guys have your advantage. I will work on making SURE when i get to the track next time that it will be nothing less than a 11 sec pass. This time i went to the track i was being a little cocky about it thinking i could do it the way i went on low boost and very little tuning at all and i lost the focus that i usually have.
I did learn a few things that i needed to know about getting there so i will use that knowledge to get there. Also my next goal is to go into the 1.6 60ft mark.

I want to also take back that stament that i made earlier about running a speed3.. I like to talk shit and can probably do it with the best of you but i want to help bring up as many people as i can in this game with the speeds. My goal is to one day TRY and take on some the EVO, STIs, and the faster SRTs of the world. WE are a ways out from that but it will come!!!! That is where we should focus our anger in the qtr mile at.

Now i am reading about all this I KNOW MY CAR and i HAVE OVER 400 hp and i KNOW THAT I AM CAPABLE OF HITTING 11's I would challenge you to go to the track and IT will show you what you think you know especially if you have never been. Street racing is different than track racing remember that!! i have been doing this for over 20 years!!

I know it takes a certain type of driver to get to 11's in fwd and me a jwilks are not those guys(well with his car anywaylol)
I will practice and get there but I'm sure a few things will break before then. I'm more interested in my trap and slowly working on my 60ft.
I will hit 12's though...

Edit: I have been to the track.
I won't make 11's.
I know how hard it is
Jwilks thinks if you got a cool car you can do it. Not the case.

i tell you what since we have all these 11sec capable cars here, why dont we put our money where our mouth is. Lets set up some type of account and all the players that are in this 11sec war put in and first to hit and BACK UP a TRUE 11sec pass which is 11.8 and faster you get the money!!! Again you have to BACK IT UP not just a one time fluke. This should kill all the noise with i have the bigger dick contest since this seems to be one of hottest topic going on right now. If you are going to buy in you buy in 20 bucks!!!
