On the first vid if you had the slip I can tell you shifted way too early but you had a vice nice 1-2 so you lost no momentum. On the second pass you stretched what 1st gear you had nicely but then noticed your nose dipped. That means you took to long on the shift. And back to 5.0 330s you went. After a while of staring at this stuff you realize its more math and acts in a play more than anything. We all know that shifting takes 2 tenths for ok drivers right? So any guy who's throwing 2nd before the 60ft cone You are adding .2 tenths to a part of the race where you only get 1.6-1.8 seconds to complete it or it's a throw away pass. That's a hard fact.

He said this track math stuff is learned over the years and many parts broken and expensive track rentals and test and tunes to figure it out. Usually you keep your own knowledge in your own camp. He warned me when I publicly help the good guys on the internet I'm also helping the random lurking starkers I didn't want to help to boot. So i'll leave you guys with that much. I gave you the basics anyway. The run just gets easier as the car goes down the track.

How do I explain this. This will be long winded and allover the place but I'll try and kick some knowledge. Ant and Will. They got to low 11's off instinct no? They had no coaching like me. Hell Will had no where as much practice as me or ant. But he still did it. But ask him how or why he was able to run that time and I bet he couldn't tell you. For Will no offense his time is more of a random event (no disrespect) than when Anthony runs A time cause Anthony keeps doing it over and over and over until it's by feel. Ant doesn't completely know why either but he knows what the pass should feel like. That makes Ant more consistent or repeatable. Will is more of a raw talent It's like those movies where there's one Ninja who is a Natural and picks up techniques quick but doesn't know why but he's as good as the other Ninja who studied all the arts and has an understanding of them so he's able to apply them and be dangerous. Like I've said before Ant's a better driver than me. I always saw that. I was never good at the track. BUT I have better coaching than ANT and a car that allows more room for error. That helps me keep pace. here is how I view the faster big turbo drivers on this site Doubleflusher: can drive you can tell this ain't his first rodeo. He's just in a weird platform. Put him in an AWd or RWD car and it would be a different animal. Ant: He can duplicate a run off feeling. Good base trait to have. Type of guy you make do money runs for you. He's starting to understand the track math which is making him more dangerous as a competitor. Will: Raw talent but probably has a terrible time swing on his runs. Like hot or cold. Gerry: He's a thug behind the wheel. Like me he needs guidance to really shine. Me: I suck at the track. I represent the majority of the members on any forum. Everyone can't be some uber driver with natural talent. But I got lucky and found a track Master to guide me. Even trash like me can match a better driver with enough knowledge and effort on their part. Driver311: That dude can read and understand a time slip and he had natural track skill to go with lots of practice. Those type of guys are dangerous cause if they have a machine to drive its only a matter of when will they run a good time.

But this community is different. It's still pure with it's performance oriented aspect. You don't have alot of people getting these cars just cause it's the cool thing to do so you have more people who are actually serious about this car game. I don't fit in well over there but here If I help you guys even alittle who knows what could happen. Little known fact. I'm the fastest pump gas evox in the US. So If I have 4-5 of you guys keeping up with me that's nothing to sneeze at. You guys are going to be faster than alot of other cars with out even realizing it when your done if things go according to plan.

So I was gonna hitch a ride down like last year but then Abbys GrandPa went into the hospital and had to have emergency surgery on his heart. I'm engaged now I couldn't just leave her during a time like that. There will be other times we'll all meet up I'm sure.

Also this stuff I'm talking about only applies to a certain amount of cars. V8's some times have crazy gearing where their launch and 330 are all in the same gear with out a shift.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The way i shift my car is by feel and sound mostly feel though. In first gear i feel how well the car launched which will determine how long i will have to be in that gear and also when i feel the power drop off so it will be time to shift. If you dont let out clutch at the right time and have the rpms at the right point then you can either lag/bog or you can get that good 60ft. One thing that most dont know or pay attention to is when you stage and are about to launch is where your clutch pedal is and what i mean about that is most people have the pedal on the floor when they tach the rpms up and by the time they engage the clutch if they wanted to launch at 4000 or what ever rpm you want to launch at they will be much higher in the rpm band which in most cases will induce spinning(fwd or rwd and some higher powered AWDs). Or because you want to get to engagement so fast then you DUMP the clutch and you most likely bog from the speed of the clutch engaging and load put on the engine and the rpms dropping. That is what it look like will did on his launch. I have found that if you learn where the clutch is at it highest point BEFORE engagement then when you are ready to take off you should get the best launch. For those that want to try this method you WILL bog if you are not quick with the gas.. last is how many press the clutch all the way to the floor when shifting? If you know how far to push it to disengage and shift this will save you some time with in your shift from gear to gear. Hope this helps someone.... There is more but i did want to bore you with all those details. Sorry for turning this into a DRIVING thread this about gerry sorry.......

Here in Montreal, i see a lot of speed3 with over 300whp strugling to get in the low 13's The first car i put on a drag strip was 15years ago and now i think i have more than 1000 pass on the 1/4.
