(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I did make about 15 runs though... pretty much hotlapping the entire time. Mods are MS CAI, Homemade Racepipe and a TRZ Motormount. I also pulled the interior of the car... 11 bolts and 45 minutes later..... ![]() With my speaker box and everything, I bet it lost 300lbs.... it looks like I have a lift... ![]() Ran a best of 13.8@104..... which I was happy with. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score It feels like you are minus one passenger..... Kinda the opposite of how it feels when you're carrying another person in the car.... not much, but you can kinda feel it... I ended up weighing every part as I put it back in... turns out I only shed 207lbs.... still though... worth the 45mins to me... took me an hour to put it back in even with weighing everything. here's the breakdown for weight..... Front Seat with all hardware 41.5lbs Rear Seat assembly (with hardware and lower seatbelts) 48lbs Rear tray assembly (plastic, styrofoam, rear floor with tools) 19.5lbs Spare Tire 32.5lbs Rear cargo tray cover 4.5lbs Jack 4.5lbs Floormats 4.5lbs Speaker Box 52.5lbs So minus the speaker box I have you really only lose 155lbs.....

| Not Ranked : 0 score Nice work and good info on weight reduction. I was kind of interested in Trailblazer SS a couple years back. I have heard the SS with the 6.0L Vette engine is a good motor to mod with simple bolt-ons. What did he run? Did he have any mods?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for the info and vid. It is interesting that these two vehicles are so close stock vs. stock and yet they achieve their performance in such different ways. I still like the SS, but when I visit the gas pump I don't regret having the 2.3T instead of the beast. And hey, I was still able to get 16 bags of mulch in the MS3 this spring! I noticed that you are on the stock ECU. Do you have plans in the future for tuning?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Cut weight off the wheels and it would have done the same thing or do both. I cut 150 pounds with leaving my front seat in and speaker system. My rotas weight in at 14 pounds a piece and my stock rims were 25. Removing what you did plus a good set of rims will have you flying.

I would have liked to get a decent launch though... the track wasn't prepped all that well... plus you couldn't avoid the waterbox... so yeah... And honestly if I didn't have the speaker box and had a pneumatic ratchet, I could pull all that 155lbs in about 15 mins....

Either way, the bastards stole the backpack I had my entire Army Career... that thing had been through all sorts of shit... It was custom altered in South Korea. If I EVER see anyone with it (and it's one of a kind), I will straight up kill the person wearing it.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score This is just off the top of my head.... Front Seats Pull the plastic covers on the four corners of the seat tracks carefully, so you don't break the clips... you may need a little force, just don't rip them off... Then pull the little plastic cover off the side of the seat near the door seal to reveal the seat belt bolt. Unbolt the four main bolts at the corners and the one for the seatbelt. Tilt the seat back a little bit to gain access to the harness plug, remove the plug and pull the seat. Rear Seats Just pull up on the bottom seat cushion and it should pop right out. For access to the bolts for the back sides of the seats, it's easiest to remove the package tray in the hatch. Once you get access to them, or if you can get to them from the front, there are four bolts holding the rear rests in. There is an additional two bolts holding the rear seat seatbelts on the floor. I think all the bolts are 13 or 14mm, but I can't remember for sure...

| Not Ranked : 0 score Very nice time!! To my personnal experience, removing 200 lbs of a car would remove a good 0.2 sec of your 1/4 mile times. When I was drag racing in my Mazda mx6, I would run between 15.6-15.7 with my mods, and with a 170 lbs passenger I was never below 15.8. (and I run consistant time too) I would guess that with no weight removal you would had run something like 14.0 |
