ah ha...therein lies the problem right? Drag racing is hard enough to get right even if your shit is running perfect...

shit running perfect then you still have like 20+ other variables you have to get right. Rubber, air pressure, burnout, staging, launch, shifts, not blowing up, etc.

As long as you're on a stock clutch, I think you'll be fine. On my car, the energy has nowhere to go (6 puck clutch, solid mounts, sticky slicks). Something will give if the tires don't spin. When mine broke, it really broke.

6 puck clutch is the reason for sure. Stock clutch for me. LOL
