Default i'm in the 12's !!

well i admit i though it would be deeper 12's but i guess this will do for now. launching FWD on slicks takes some practice ! it isnt as easy as my old stang thats for sure. i had a few launches that spun the slicks hard and i had to pedal it !! there is still some room for improvement in the 60ft, but not too bad. i think i can get it down to 1.7's.
my reaction times were shit, but i wasnt really trying. i just wanted to get good clean launches.
i have my intercooler coming in 2 weeks and hopefully a "special surprise" too. look for faster times soon ! here are my 2 best slips of the night.

GIVE A BROTHA SOME REP POINTS !!

i got them down to 16psi now. i dont want to go much lower than that. i would rather spin than be the first to snap an axle !! i could launch pretty good right at about 3750rpm. boost was at about 18psi in 3rd-4th and went up to about 21 in 5th.

If they are tubless hoosiers, 15-16 psi is ideal for them... 18+ makes it pointless to even own slicks.

Looks like 26x9.5x16 Hoosier QuickTime Pro's on Mustang rims. I think those are 16x8.

Jason's snapped them before. And did you change up that boost control like I told you on the phone?

We got DSS to make them for the Protege guys but they stopped doing it because people stopped buying them. Those are parts we don't have available to us atm but maybe soon enough. If anything happens it will probably be for the Speed6 first since that's the car we have and it will be making a lot more power hopefully in the coming months.

thanks for all the feedback guys. let me answer some of those questions .....
they are 26 x 9.5 x 16 hoosier QTP's . they are tall that is true, but taller tires are better for traction down low, but they will give up some up top. this is the best option for the car by far though. i looked for months before i bought them. there is nothing better that will fit without going to a 15" rim and spacers which is a no no in my book.
the rims are in fact off of a 2005 mustang V6. together they fit perfect. i think i could get another 3 tenths out of it with more practice. FWD on slicks takes practice !!

my mods for those who wanted to know.
MS CAI
PG turbo manifold
CS downpipe
PG mid pipe
gutted stock catback
PG reworked turbo
PG CDFP
TRZ motor mount
forge BPV
map clamp set to 13psi
MBC was at about 18-19psi falling to 15 by 6k
thats where i think i could have picked up some time. i did turn the boost up between runs a few times, but the few clicks i made gave very little increase.

also this is with a stock intercooler.

the rims are in fact off of a 2005 mustang V6. together they fit perfect. i think i could get another 3 tenths out of it with more practice. FWD on slicks takes practice !!

my mods for those who wanted to know.
MS CAI
PG turbo manifold
CS downpipe
PG mid pipe
gutted stock catback
PG reworked turbo
PG CDFP
TRZ motor mount
forge BPV
map clamp set to 13psi
MBC was at about 18-19psi falling to 15 by 6k
thats where i think i could have picked up some time. i did turn the boost up between runs a few times, but the few clicks i made gave very little increase.

also this is with a stock intercooler.

no FMIC for me. actually TRZ called me and said my TMIC is shipping next week. they decided not to make the coldpipe attach to the IC directly though because of fittment discrepencies that were noticed between the MS3 and CX7. they tell me tere will be an upgraded pipe that will bolt up to ANY TMIC in the near future. but my intercooler is 1 of a kind !! it has an aluminum coil inside that is going to circulate co2 through it and then exit through an IC spray bar. initial tests show it can lower intake temps as much as 50 degrees ! that is good for some big power ! results to come.

ZACH.... no i didnt relocate the MBC. i think i will just leave it until i get EMS. it works it just seems that i have to keep it more open than i did when inline with the WGA.

Good times...but with all your mods I think it should be a little faster even with your 60ft times. I'm not trying to knock your times at all. Its just you have a lot of mod's with slicks and we are only looking at a mid(at best) to high 12 sec car....But then again we can blame it on the crappy stock intercooler for being the weak link with your setup and holding you back. I'm anxious to see how that improves you with a better flowing intercooler setup. So keep us updated!!!!

Well thats awesome because there are people who dont want to spend more than $600 on an IC system and that c02 option sounds pretty awesome for cooling at the track. Be sure to take lots of pics of it!

well before the turbo swap i had it the proper way, which is inbetween the turbo and WGA. since it is a PITA to install and remove from that spot i moved it this time. it is now in place of the stock soenoid...NOT INLINE but taking its place. the lower WGA hose goes to the turbo as normal, but the top hose that went to the stock solenoid now runs to the inlet of my MBC and the outlet is capped off, but the bleeder hole still functions fine. it works fine in thois location, but it doeas seem that i takes much more adjustment to get the desired boost. with the old set up i had to turn my turbosmart MBC about 22 clicks from the fully closed position get 20psi. with it in its current location i had it 60clicks open !! it think because it is after physically after the WGA it is messing with it a little, but its no biggie it still works. EMS soon hopefully.

the TRZ IC should be here next week. and i will post pics, but TRZ says production versions will not be ready right away. this is because we are going to switch cores. ETS is a PITA to deal with and havw questionable quality, and take forever to get products from. the production IC will likely have a BELL core, but that is not confirmed yet.

the Co2 system for the TRZ will not be able to be used on the ETS. it is built INSIDE the cold endtank. TRZ is also debating on whether or not to put the big ugly plate around the IC like ETS does.the test they are doing now is to see if that part is actually beneficial. its is their though that it is not needed. it is not "funnel" shaped it is flat. and what happes to air when it hits a flat spot ?? it bounces off, goes backwards and causes turbulance. if it were not there the air flow would be smoother and spead more evenly over the core. the air that doesnt go directly through the fins will still be passing over the sides of the IC cooling the surfaces. thats the theory anyways. they said if it proves to cool better with the ugly plate they will put it on there, but if not it's just any eyesore !!

no pics yet. it has to go back for some tweeking. it fits but not the way we would like.
i have the PG manifold and it is just too damn close to it. they are going to change the way it sits a bit to make it clear better. thats the fun of being the test dummy !! i go throught the PITA so it can be right for everyone else !!

Nice times brotha. Good to see someone out there reppin. Those slicks are perfect for that car and thats what I will or would run if I get back in the game. Perfect choice. Just an fyi, those slicks are not gonna do what you want until you lower the pressure to around 12psi. In srts I run 10psi and cut high 1.6s all day. In the ms3 Id recommend atleast 14psi, but 12psi would be much better suited and would get you the low 1.7s the car is capable of or even high 1.6 if you get the lauch down. Lower your launch to around 2500 and come out hard. Launch and shift is the key with this car. Dont try to run first gear out. Shift and let second gear roast the tires because it will sling shot you real hard, trust me this tactic has worked great for me in srts and in this car. I havent dissapointed yet. LOL

Well good job and keep up the good work. Im glad things are still moving strong since Ive been gone. Hopefully in the spring I can get back in this and have some fun. 11s in this car should be easy. Im suprised no one is there yet. I think its still doable on the stocker. My 12.7 run was with testpipe and bc only and on weak ass 24inch slicks.

OMG ....HE LIVES !!! good to see ya driver !!
the only reason i dont drop the pressure in the slicks below 15 is because i dont have tubes in them. everyone i have asked said 15 is about the limit with no tubes.
i have added lots of toys since that day. the car should be quite a bit faster now, but the good track is closed for the year. i may go up to wisconsin and hit the ghetto track in a week or 2 ...we'll see.
