I'm sure some of you know that Island Drag closed down at the end of last season. However, rumor has it that it will be opening again. If true, this is great news. See below.

May 2013 Island dragway reopening

Yeah this is what I've been hearing. Supposedly they're in the process of repairing/updating the track. I'm almost wondering if this was the true purpose of "closing down." In order to make the much needed updates.

EDIT: Just saw the newest post and apparently they're open!

^ Yea I saw that too, but I feel like it would've been bigger news if it had actually opened. Who knows.

Agreed so doesn't seem legit...and lets say it was opening in even a few weeks, you'd think shit would be all over the place to hype it up.

Sad part is island and atco are like the same distance from me. But I'd go to island before Etwown just because you get more runs at island

Ended up going a best of 13.54 with a best trap of 104.48. DA was just under 500ft. Fucking love Island Drag. I got 11 runs in lol. Vid below of me vs. 6spd Accord sedan (very lightly modded). Mods/ETs in video.

How fast did you think I was? Car will go 13.3 @105+ easy in better weather. It's a bolt on 3.0 Accord. No internal work, just bolt ons and no tune.

It's subjective. For a bolt on Accord, yea. But no, never said it was fast, toilet handle.

This car will see 12s all motor, full weight. Then I'm done with it.

That to me it's impressive.

Considering the weight, gearing, it's pretty quick and would catch people off gaurd.
