six6...this isn't really the place for a beginner course in the mechanics or efficiency ranges of the KO4 turbo on the stock tune, but just for you to reference:

1st gear + 25 mph in the ms3 = a hair under 5k rpm
2nd gear +25 mph in the ms3 = 3k rpm

Not sure what you think it takes for our turbo to spool?

When I had my Si, I accepted it for what it was - a 15 second car. Yea yea, you can make it faster, but bolt-on for bolt-on, the MS3 is going to pull away ever increasingly faster. Example? MS3 CAI = 25 whp, Si CAI = 10 whp.

i have a 135 bmw that will handle the civic si and the speed 3. but im sick of all the speed 3 guys thinking their car is the fastest thing alive.. seems to me that you guys are racing ex's and retards behind the wheel.

facts:
speed 3 = unreliable slow shitty gas mileage no potential other than basic bolt ons.


civic si=reliable slow( less than half a second slower than the speed 3 in 1/4 assuming both good drivers) low maintenance, great gas mileage, you slap a turbo on it and run 12,9s trapping 114 with stock clutch and stock tires stock suspension, yes i have vids and timeslips for that one.

actually i was in the market for a 2010 speed 3, which lead me to this forum. i just purchased the 135 after coming to my senses and realizing the 2010 speed 3 is the ugliest thing i've seen and found that thread where the guy blew his turbo after like 3000 miles lmfao.

Damn I was bored and read some of the threads on the 8th gen civic forum. Those people with an SI think they can bet anything on the road with there weak ass vtek. I have personally raced two new SI's. Once when I was completely stock and the other was when I had an intake. The first time when I was stock I pulled away hard in second and shut it down after third gear. I believe the SI was stock. The second time I had only an intake at the time. The SI had what sounded like full bolt ons. Header, Exhaust, Intake, not sure of anything else. The guy was with his girl and thought his car was the shit. Well we both went from a third gear roll, and it was over in seconds. I never looked back to see how far ahead I had pulled. The funny thing is the dude was shocked I took him and did the usual ricer fly by. Him and his girl kept tring to look over and see what car had just murdered them. Since then I do not waste my gas on a new SI. I know this is a different example then racing at a track but I think same results would happen.

just cuz one turbo fucks up in 3k miles doesnt mean they all do i constantly abuse my speed and my motor seems fine and transmission and clutch.

its ok, i went against a civic si with i/h/e and some kind of tune (vtech kicked in real low)when i was 100% stock. he was 3 car lengths behind by the time we hit 100mph.

and 40 k? lmao , i bought it used for about 30 k with 18 k miles. and i dont care about the fuel pump, if you haven't heard its covered under warranty and it currently has a recall.

the speed 3 base was around 22 k, and id rather replace the fuel pump anyday then the whole motor lmao
