I have a spreadsheet showing 44 DISI 2.3L motors blown (MS3, MS6, and 1 CX-7). I gathered the info from this forum, and I'm working on getting data from other forums now. But of those 44, I think three were hydrolocked, while 4-5 were obvious and admitted user error.

I don't think I'll get to more than 50 or 55 total blown engines off all the forums. So really, the number is, I think, blown WAY out of proportion.

However, I can tell you this much for sure: so far, not ONE 2009 or 2010 is on the list.

I drive a 08 SI and I can tell you right now it doesn't compare to the MS3 in anyway. I'm thinking about getting a 09' MS3 once I pay off my loan which will be soon. I have a friend who has one and he blows my doors off whenever we raced.
