And if you want a motor that can hold power, there have been 2 s2000's with bone stock bottom ends running 650+ whp...

and a TON running 400-500 whp.

Civics didnt pave the way for after market performance companys you douche cars like the 280z or gtrs mustangs and so forth. the only reason alot of atermarket companys make parts for civics is cause of dumb twats like you and babyms118 spend way you much money making their cars in to rice boxes with frat cans and a bunch other dress up crap from companys like american racing products. and yes i drive a hatchback because thats what i wanted i like you see you fold down your seats and get laid by your mom in the back of your car.

Anyways, I had an Si. It was nice. Moving on to something different though. I sat in a mazdaspeed at this years auto show. I liked it, and will be test driving it here in the near future. Onto more reading and searching! :arms:

Lol, believe it or not, my girl thinks that the Mazdaspeed3 is better and in her own words "A hell of a lot sexier than the Si inside and out!" I just love the versatility of the 4 doors and hatch, I'm always carrying around 3+ people and cargo for work. Its got the low end grunt to do it well also.

So, can we all agree that it will take a minimum of $2000 for the Si to come even with the MS3 power wise? An I/H/E + maybe a tune seem to be what is required have them trapping about what ours do stock. Handling is a whole 'nother can of worms, having just come from an Si not but 2 weeks ago, I will tell you that the MS3 is a big step up in the handling department. :wink1:

The whole looks better argument is going to be entirely subjective. My wife never liked the looks of the hatch. She also said she likes diving the Civic much better in terms of visibility, seats, shifting, basic driver interface stuff. I'm sure someone will reply, "that's because it's a girl's car blah blah blah," but that is another subjective opinion.

We can argue costs all day. Yes, for ~$2k a civic is about on par with an MS3 stock. Yes, I miss the MS3 torque. What I do like is the linear power band, and the reliability of the Civic. The latter was the deal breaker to me. When I sold my MS3, it was either dump it, or return to stock, so I would be driving a car that I believe was less reliable with about the same power.

The mods probably go tired of him pestering them all the time. There is no sense getting as worked up as he did over an internet car discussion where neither side is going to be convinced. I think it has been an interesting discussion, none the less, in spite of the barbs.

well, i was going to hondata my speed3, but for some reason it wasnt working, then i got some folgers cans and made me an exhaust, on top of that i also threw together a quick intake out of PVC pipe 3.5inch. im i certified for a honda yet?

You should just do it ASAP, flashpro manager is 10x easier to use and more intuitive than ATR.

Fullmetal, I don't think he was claiming it takes 2k to run 12.9 but 2k to run a comparable ¼ mile time vs. stock MS3 which might be doable I guess. Al though I’ve never seen this happen personally. To run under 13sec it takes at least $6000.00 in bolt-ons / tune, weight reduction and racing slicks, etc. He somehow sees this as being a better bang for you buck vs. the MS3. This is obviously absurd and not even worth arguing with someone who is this delusional / out of touch with reality.

I went to a car meet last night in the valley and there were like 6-10 SI's there and I was the only Mazdaspeed3 (there were well over 100 cars there). I asked any of them if they wanted to race and they all declined, willfully admitting that my car is significantly faster than theirs. Just a FYI. :)

I believe you 100%. I went to a car meet & none of the dozen or so MS3s wanted to race me, either, admitting that they didn't want to blow their engines while losing to a Civic.

There's a whole lot of bad attitudes in this thread. It was hilarious at first, but now the novelty has worn off and all that's left is a feeling of general disdain for both sides.
