He ran a 14.0 @ 101 stock. with a 2.3 60 ft. He knows how to drive the car, just wasn't hooking up too well.

Yep and they'll still have to down shift a thousands times to pass that soccer mom in the mini van. Meanwhile the MS3 just needs a gentle nudge on the throttle and it's blowing by like no ones business. That's the beauty of this thing called: TORQUE. They wouldn’t know anything about this driving a Civic.

We actually have plenty of torque for passing. but our 6th gear is incredibly tall. the top speed of 6th in this car is 200 mph. If 6th gear was more like the rsx's...

Then he cannot drive. Absolutley should have trapped higher then if he was spinning and still did 14.0.

NUM NUTZ? What the hell?

I think people are talking about two different things. Of course an all motor car is going to cost somewhat more money then a turbo car to go faster. Some people call this "a challenge". Same reason why some people only run at the track with there "street trim". It's kind of like bragging rights (run how you would run on the street type stuff)

Putting a bigger turbo on a car with slicks and going fast has been done for ages. The fact that people get all bent out of shape over an all motor car going as fast as some modded turbo cars (that are still streetable) is silly, If it bothered you that much you shouldn't have posted in this thread.

You should have just invested a couple more bucks in your car so that "slow all motor hondas" can't touch you on the street/track/autox/gas mileage/parking lot

2.3 60 ft is not a lot of spinning. Only moderate.

Btw, the drag strip you listed there. Fast track. Come down here i bet you wouldn't run faster than 13.5-13.6 @ 104-105.

Performance wise, an NA 4 banger will NEVER make the power a turbo'd 4 banger will, ever. And 108 mph trap speed is nothing, it's OK but nothing to brag about. N/A cars(unless 8 cylinders) do nothing for me. But props to the guy's driving skills, I doubt anyone else could pull those times in that car.

I have a 500+ hp Corvette, a ms3, and a 300hp del sol. You know which one is the most fun? The del sol! That's right, I said it.

Not saying the corvette isn't fun, it's just doesn't give the same rush as the little red coffin.

I wonder what I would get called if I trolled the Civic forums posting timeslips from MS3's and arguing which car is better for this or that.

This thread reminds me of an integra giving me a fly by in the left lane of a 25MPH area, even better that I was literally stopped in traffic waiting to turn right.

No, that's the point. The point is that the MS3 is A LOT faster stock and has a far better cost to performance ratio modified. The Civic SI needed a shit ton of bolt-ons / tune / weight reduction and slicks to barely break 13. That's FAR from the same thing.

You want to talk about adding insult to injury? The fact that as soon as you add the DP you have to build your POS engine if you want any piece of mind that it won't blow. Since you are so concerned with how much it costs to mod a Honda, that's at least another $5k parts & labor right there.
