Default NJSPEED3 @ Island dragway

Ill be updating throw out the day

I should first tell you guys that im noob at drag racing. luckily I have Billy to coach me through it. First run I think i glazed my clutch a bit. Im spinning like crazy 1st,2nd,3th third I barely get traction.

ill post slips tonight!

1st run
14.2 @ 113.9
2nd run
14.2 @ 110

currently letting the clutch cool off

Sorry for no additional updates I was using Flushpuppy's phone to get wireless for my laptop. He had to take off early

Any ways here the deal officially I know you guys have been updated already

i told u this yesterday gerry... high 13s at best. trust me when i tell u that its not important...your car isnt in a position to run a decent ET no matter who drives it..... so dont feel bad....u cant cheat physics no matter how hard u try.

anyways....quick quesstions on the first pass....how r u launching and are u powershifting?......also keep in mind you being "green" will account for a ton of discrepancy in both et and mph....... but 114mph on a noob tells me that a seasoned driver with a proper launch rpm to be in the power sooner (if u had an actual tire worth a fuck) could easily pick up a few more mph.....

pretty clear you got 116-117mph in that car easily....good shit gerry, keep trying and have a blast, think of it like me running in the rain,.....all u can really do is have fun and enjoy the ride.

You didn't deserve billy there Gerry. Where were you when billy was trying for 11's huh? NOWHERE to be found. Phone went straight to voice mail.

As for your runs I know your ass went there on stock rubber knowing you but at least you got to see traps that's whats important. sucky part is alot of that trap your seeing ain't happening till you get into 4th gear so i bet from a roll on the street you'd keep up or tie 115 maybe even 116 Trap cars. Fuck mazdas shitty gearing and inability to rev high.....

this is what u clowns dont get.... if hes soft launching it...rolling out basically at lower rpm he will trap lower always.....

if he was able to launch at 3500 and have controllable wheelspin i bet he traps 116-117 all day long....

his car def runs strong....now he needs optimized tune and the proper rubber to actually have good runs....

Lenny he ran a 14.0 soft rolling out then ran a 13.0 @112 you gonna tell me there was no effort in that one? also his traps are going to be at there best in these current conditions he ain't gonna be quicker come spring and summer if he changes nothing with his setup. heres one of those cases phil where your mouth actually catches up to you... i know in your lil circle of 13 year olds running a a lil nos on an ms3...and building a lil 240 that u can even drive makes you an expert..... and to most here on msf it might seem the case....

plain and simple fact is that if you cant lean on the car in 1st and 2nd by the time you get to 3rd you are just playing catch up..both on et and mph... (et more so)

if u doubt this.....lets get a perfectly stock ms3.... launch from idle m get me a 2.3 60ft and then show me the mph.... then get me the same vehicle launching at 2500 get the same 2.3 60ft ...and I will bet you any amount you want that the mph on the later test will always be noticeable higher.....

if that wasnt the case fucknut every racer out there would launch at idle since it doesnt really matter according to your vast experience in the NHRA......

now all that aside said.... add to it that i fucken guarantee u that gerry dont go from nub to pro in one outing.....

maybe u should go argue with the guys that actually think u know shit phil.....

Island is closed for the season.

Englishtown closes in december but you're lucky if you get 3 runs in Island I did 7 with a 2hr break to let the clutch cool off

Atco I gotta check!

I would def rock your slicks if you're cool with that dude I think with more seat time and your slicks we can get much better results.

I surprised myself with that 13 @ 112 run. Honestly I fucked up and rolled over the wet box after my first run of the day car spun so much the clutch would grip so I think I glazed it. I didnt start griping towards the last 2 runs of the day.

then on those 2 runs I failed some more.

1st one i got locked out of 2nd
2nd and last run of the day I missed 3th.

All in all Its my second time to the track ever!

First time with a bt setup Im pretty happy with the results. Unfortunately I cant afford to spend money on the car right now otherwise I would of gotten some better rubber for the Track. I was mainly going for traps not et's to get an idea how the car is running.

Let me know when you wana go Dude! Im down to go once more this year.

Nj I got one thing to add. A 2.2 on stock tires and 3076 is a respectable 60ft. Nice work. Put homeboys slicks on and run 12psi, 11.8@117 will follow. Do it man, be the first speed to rock that 11 second slip. Fuck I wanna go run my car, its pulling so fucking hard right now at 20psi.

Atco gave me some flyer that says they have time trials on Black Friday. Some shit like $30 for the whole day, 10AM to 8PM, lol. They also do $15/5 hour sessions. I know for sure that Atco stays opened the later than Island and Englishtown. I'm not sure myself about going on Black Friday, but when are you free? This fall weather is turbo weather. Need to take advantage of it.

Don't let me hit 11's before you. Let's do this!!

gerry good job man..... the flat 13 was great, and like anthony said that much power a 2.2 60ft means u nailed it as good as anyone could possibly do.....

as far as the mph bro... part of being a nub means inconsistency in launching, shifting etc etc... u got 87mph on one 8th and 90mph on the next... u got so much more in that car its not even funny..... practice makes perfect gerry and im glad u balled up and went man.

your car looks like it pulls hard just by seeing how much it squats at speeds while in gear...u got ppppooowahhh!!!

couple questions....

what netted you the 13.0 as far as launch, shifting etc (and where u powershifting on your runs??)

yo yo wtf is going on here! Respect Son!

Ahh honestly Lenny I rolled out perfectly right aroud 2500rpms like we spoke. I somehow managed all my shifts and gripped better than most runs dont ask me how. As for the shifting I was shifting a bit early around 6400-6500 prob not fast enough. Also the first 4 runs I did them with 30psi tire pressure this was after being advised by Billy. He said since I was going for traps mostly that it wouldnt really matter.

After spinning and tire hopping so much and I dropped to 22-23psi and this was when the 13 flat/2.2 happened. I had two more runs but got locked out of 2nd on one and missed 3th on the other if not I think I could of hit a 12.9 at the least.

According to my sources I did better the you bestfriend Cagey Phil he did 13.2 @ 112 on dr's Corrected street tires

I guess since Billy no longer has the ap you could come see my fayeling ass Phil! I let u have the upper hand last time on a 40 roll and 9s/10s afrs no timing basically no tune.
