The quest is over! 11.7@119 1 Attachment(s) Well boys and girls what I have been fighting for, for two years has finally happened. Mods to car are fully bolted with atp gtx3071r compliments of mark at streetunit and running 4g e85 to 8g of pump. Self tuned by me with help from the one and only DJ. Boost was 21-22psi on all runs. First run was at 21psi with 17 degrees peak timing. Car ran 11.9@116. Fuck ya I was pumped. Next pass I went 22psi and rocked down a 11.8@117. OMG i was beyond happy. Then I decided to take timing from 17 to 18.5 peak. Adding roughly 1-2 from 4000-7000. The car liked it going 11.8@118. Let the car cool down for an hour took another shot at it and knocked down a 11.7@119. All in all Im very very happy with this setup. Car never seen over 22psi today and it loved the added timing. Going from 15-18.5 degrees changed the car. I still havent even pushed my setup. The gtx3071 pulled so hard up top. I love this turbo. More to come hopefully by end of month Ill try to get back out on 24psi and some oxygenated gas. I still have one more goal. GEt the car booted from the track. Mods Atp gtx3071 iwg 14psi spring dnp exhaust mani ceramic coated atp dp high flow cat cs 80mm exhaust atp 3in intake cpe inlet ptp cdfp Cobb Ap Tuned on 40% e85 txs fmic ts 50/50 bov ported intake mani with vtcs delete itv22 plugs matt damon catch can w/cv ptp egr delete breater filter on vc ptp intake mani gasket coolant bypass on tb Stock clutch 60k miles stock motor 5k miles stock axles 60k miles stock motor mounts with rear one urethane filled This car is pretty stout and I have raced this car more than any two members. I have over 150 dyno pulls on it, probably 50 pulls down the track, lots of hard autocross, time attacks and hillclimbs. Not counting the hundreds of freeway logs Ive taken. This car has been through the ringer and runs kick ass. Im very impressed with what mazda did with this car. |
congrats, did you by chance get video? |
1 Attachment(s) Sorry here it is rotated. |

Congrats brotha!! |
Sick times, was the car about to take off without the wing? |
in for vids! awsome job |
Nice!! |
Good work, 10's next right? Or are you going to part out now? |
damn, you're lucky. when I lived in Jersey, they would boot anyone running less than 12s that didn't have a full roll cage and other safety requirements. |
Woo hoo congrats man! |
Awesome, so happy that it was a MS3 first to 11's in America. Keep up the good work. |
Awesome! Subbed for the vid! |
Im super happy with this setup. In my eyes the gt3071 is the best option for this car. I really like the smaller back half and this just proves there is no need to spend all that money on ewg setups. This is a bolt on atp turbo. How simple can it get. Im fully bolted and only on 22psi. Thats just great. No crazy setup here just good driving and the right parts. Anyone can have this setup from the shelf. Afrs were at 11.9 also. |
NOICE, what was your tire setup? |
Very nice man!! |

I cut consistant 1.7 60fts and ran 11.5-12.5 pressure in them. I thought about next time i go out running 18psi in them for one pass to get my 120 trap. I know the car has it, especially on 1-2psi more. |
Subscribed for vids. Nice runs |
Congrats! I knew you'd be the first to do it. |
Excellent work |

way to go man, very consistent times taking off spoiler = win |
I want video! Great stuff man, super siked for ya! |
gj, man...it's good to finally see someone in the 11s! |

Excellent. Congrats. In b4 everyone starts taking off their spoilers / wing :silly: |
Excellent! I gotta say... if you didn't have slips I would call you a damn liar for saying that taking your wing off added 1.5mph to your trap. Good job! |
thats awsome! Nice job! |
Epic win man, Congrats! Not only was I pumped to see 11's, but even more pumped to see 119 trap speed. That's flying man. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk |
Dude when I got my slip and it said 11.7 I was like wtf! Then I showed my buddy and he was like, dude 119!! I had to take a double look, the wing actually worked lol. Makes sense though. The evo guys gain 2-3mph on 130 trapping cars. It adds all that downforce for high speed track racing. So taking it off eliminates that down force. Who knows I might be on crack. No matter how you look. 119 is fast as fack and at 3000ft track. |

I think if you try and lighten up the car a bit, you will be knocking on 10s doors....Congrats man glad you are part of this great community :grouphug: |
Awesome job driver! time to hit up sea level and get those 10's. |
Hell yes man! We all knew you were going to hit it.. just waiting for the track day.. Great job! As of the now the plan is for a few of us to come up for the next event.. maybe we'll have another 11 sec ms3 very soon. |
Congrats man, have been waiting for this day for a while. I knew it would happend with all the BT MS3's out there. Awesome to see that you were the first with all the hard work you have put in to getting there. Keep up the progress for us MS3's. |
Drag is drag no matter how you look at it. GG. |
Hell yes Driver. I was just speaking about your thread and your input into other threads today. NJspeed3 mentioned you broke into the 11's and I'm not surprised. Congratulations. |
Congratulations Anthony! I will post videos as soon as I get back home. :) Thanks again for helping me out with the bov. |
Fucking nice. congrats when i saw that you were on 12 flat, i knew u were trying to get to the 11s ASAP and u did. Now for 10s at sea level YOU CAN DO ITTTTTTT |
Nice! Cant wait for vids |
Pic/video with wing off. That's gotta look ugly as hell lol. Bout time man it was well worth the wait. Unicorns are being killed left and right recently with you and @Erich breaking 500whp. Things are really starting to heat up around here. Congrats again man Edit: Also do u have a current dyno sheet or anything that be a blueprint for how much actual wheel hp it takes to get into the 11s would be interesting |
Quote:
Ps. yes we are turning your timing up. ON 15 degrees max timing my car would be running the same traps as you. You will gain 30whp with my timing curve. It works killer and proven on several members cars now that 18-20 degrees max timing is a very solid spot. Quote:

11.79 fuckkkkkk!!!! IM soooooo excited I finally did it. IM so glad it wasnt an 11.99 and that i was able to do it 4 times. |
Congrats, Driver this just makes others like me even more eager for 11s. but where are the vids? Is there club music in the background like the other 11s mazda? |
did you use launch control at all??? |
agreed we want vids damnit. |
I want the same turbo setup but I can guarantee I wont be hitting 11s. Way to go! Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk |

Here is a vid my buddy took. NOt good quality cause it was his phone and you cant see my time. Gay. But you can clearly see how hard it comes out of the hole and how hard it pulls. This was my 11.81@118 pass. |
Fucking nuts If only the 3 wasn't red ;) |
Way to go buddy , good luck |
Can you post your log/tune? Awesome job. |
1 Attachment(s) Here is 1 from my 11.81@118.4 pass. |
nice work man! Great setup you have. Fast car for sure. Sent from my Transformer TF101G using Tapatalk |
OK, so I just got home...... hit a fucking tire that was in the middle of the road. At 80 MPH there was no time to do anything but hit it. Fucked up the lower part of my bumper . They guy driving my bf's car was behind me and hit it too. Busted part of his bumper and broke a ps pressure line. Oh what a night. Sorry, but the guess I have will be posted tomorrow. :sigh: |
I turned the volume up to hear the awesome coming from your car........lol at the other car making all that noise and losing. Edit: to a station wagon |
nice work man......congrats & well deserved! |

Congrats man, Glad I was there to see it, your runs got me all pumped up to get back on the Pinto!!! |

Congrats man! It's been a long time coming. No wing, though? Don't go around a corner man, it might kill you! |
Wow great job!! In for more vids! |

Great driving, tune, and times! You have that wing extension as well ... so that wasn't helping you out in the straight line. |
First stock block Mazdaspeed into 11s. Pat had a built block. Very nice. The platform seems to have advanced so much within the last year. Good job. |
Fucking EPIC!!!! Great job! |
Here is another view of one of the 11.8 runs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75do...e_gdata_player Here is my 11.7 pass. To bad I was racing a 9 second car. LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGvx...e_gdata_player |
a thing of beauty.... :fing02: |
congratsss |
Way Cool!! G |
Congrats awesome driving and tune as well. |
Awesome....just awesome...congrats hope to see you in the 10's |
Epic determination at its finest! |
Congrats! What were you racing that ran a 9.8? |
Looked like a grand national. |
You were definitely having more fun driving than I was recording. Good job Anthony!! |
congrats dude!! i knew you were gonna be the first to hit 11's for the ms3's. Keep up the good work, man!! |
Well, not that it means much to you, but I was there, and witnessed it first hand. So, yeah it's all legit. There were also about 15-20 other people off our local forum there who saw. Sorry the videos sucked, but all I had was a phone to record with. |

LoL - calm down. Like I said, I believe you. All I'm askin for here is a camera with a zoom function. Probably should have sent it in a pm to begin with <shrug> |
uh oh, here is goes! lol Congrats Anthony! Way to represent the MS3's. Is this your original stock clutch or did you do an OEM replacement? I remember you saying that yours was slipping badly a while back. |
Still the same one. LOL It apparently was just mad at me that day. Havent done a second gear burnout since. The toyo slicks dont take much to get hot. Im super super impressed with these tires. Extreme hook up for a short geared heavy fwd car making over 400ftlbs. 60k hard hard ridden miles on this clutch and still grabbin like a mofo. LOL |
Quote:
Any weight reduction? |
I tried to borrow some skinnies from my buddy but they were to tall. 26s and the offset put them right at the fender. I would of had to put my coilovers way up. Gonna try and get some for the 29th. last event of the year and I think 11.4-11.5 isnt out of the question for that day. Take wing off for whole day, skinnies in rear, passenger and back seats out, very little gas in tank, 24psi, a lil more timing and see what the fuck happens. If I can atleast get 120 traps Ill be sooo pumped. But I think thats being conservative. YOu can clearly see I was only hitting 21psi up top and small spikes. I think if I get the gs ebc dialed in I can elimate any spike and just run 24psi solid instead of worrying about 26-27psi spikes. LOL Also dial back boost to 18psi in 1st and 2nd then game on from there. Though peeps that were track side said the car was clearly spinning the slicks in 3rd and grabbing chrrps in 4th and 5th. I was fucking shifting like a possessed maniac. LOL |
After looking over the slips Im not sure if taking the wing off did much. I trapped 118.4 the pass previous and then took wing off and trapped 119.04. So it could have just been a 1mph tail wind or 1mph less head wind. Or it could have been the wing. I just dont want 100 peeps to take the wing off their car expected miracles. LOL Just sharing my thoughts here guys. Its worth a try and it makes sense. Ill definately be taking it off again next time out. Maybe its my lucky charm LOL |
Sounds good man. Maybe lifting the rear up wouldn't be such a bad idea, and make it really stiff. Help keep more traction on the front wheels. Good luck though. I'm pullen for you. P.S. I wouldn't take my wing off for 1 mph, unless I was trying to reach a certain mph lol |
BTW I just wanted to clear things up and say THE QUEST IS NEVER OVER! I know you hit 11s which is def. a mile stone for the MS3 but remember my chilrens. No matter how fast you go you will always want to go faster there is no limit for that. We gotta get these other BT guys to man up like you and put some slicks on their cars, and make shit happen. |
Greets from russian community. We're all impressed here! Good result! And the truth is - you can be faster, and you know it! Keep it up man! |
Just remember to mail us all hard copies of the time slips next time. |
That thing gets out of the hole damn fast. |
Congratulations to a very deserving individual.....I salute you good sir! |

was this with LC and ffs? |
No I dont use LC and I shift so fast there is no need for ffs. As you can clearly see its not needed and I prefer no LC cause no launch is never the same. Gotta be by feel and if you look at my logs I shift so fast the AP can barely pick the lifting of my foot up on acc. poss. It works for me but for others ffs is a good feature. I just dont like the idea of missing a gear and being wot or the added stress on drivetrain. I know some will say that I would have gone faster with ffs or lc but if thats the case than someone get in my car and prove me wrong. LOL |
I agree. Good driver > LC Quote:
