Well if have not noticed i am AWD and i have YET to break tire on my car even with a 1.71 60ft and still hold the fastest record so i believe this must be directed at the FWD guys????

djuosnteisn 11-18-2010 03:31 PM

I just don't like spot lights until I feel like they're deserved.

Yes and apparently they think DR's are their answer.

Olympus is where the gods hang out though....

I'll have consistent low 11's by next spring.

Ill post my slip for you if you guys would like to see it. No biggie. Oh and "I" was also the first to do 1.7 60fts in a speed also, of any kind. Though you did better me in your awd. My best so far is 1.75, but you gave me something to shoot for. I also want 1.6 60ft. Im hoping the 26 i have will do it. The 24s Ive run thus far just dont cut it. They spin something fierce with the short gearing. LOL Keep up the good work and lets get those 11s. I just want to be the first 3 to do it. Im really suprised all these BT 6s havent done it yet?????? I ran 11s easily in my evo with only exhaust, fmic, and safc. NOt even a bc or intake! Man that car came out of the hole with average 60s being 1.65 and best of 1.59. Awd makes it soo much easier.

I think this was early 08. YouTube - Mazda speed 3

what song is that?

The whole time that setup was on my car, i was plagued with exh mani problems. First there was an unfinished weld like 1 inch long on one runner, and then the ewg stem kept cracking. It was cracked while at the track :-/

But all excuses aside lol....

your best bet would probably be to go to cecil county dragway in MD.. ive been told that is a "downhill" track :fest30: how far north are you in jersey??

SIXual Panda 11-23-2010 11:12 AM

ahhh, nevermind justin, youre far as fuck from that track. i didnt know that you were that north.

5500 asl. The mani issues were the biggest thing, cause car felt noticeably slower to me at the time, i just wasn't sure exactly what was going on. New setup will be bullet proof hopefully, and should be good for low 11's and hopefully high 120's.

dude i cant wait for that thing to run. its going to be badass.
your dyno numbers arent with that unfinished weld on the mani were they? like the 449??

Yeah, i had a gaping exh leak from install to tear down on that setup... It was the main reason i couldn't hold boost in upper rpm's, i'm sure. I speculated that the turbo was simply out of breath... which i guess is still actually accurate lol. But i think if i were leak free, i would have held my torque so much nicer, and made significantly more power up top, like 20+ hp probably. All speculation now though, so pointless to theorize i guess.

Onward and upward  New setup will absolutely trump the last one, and i have a nice long weekend to log some garage hours.

socks 11-23-2010 06:19 PM

woot for the highest trap speed and STILL not in the 12's!

truth. 13.0@119mph thanks to consistent 2.4 60's on drag radials.

Thats a 11.6 car easily on 26 inch slicks. very nice. Stock motor? I really would like a 116-118 trap in mine. I think with 375whp itll happen. I raced my buddies stg3 srt with 370whp and ran 11.7@121 and that day the track prep was horrible. His car was right at 2950lbs that day. So roughly 200lbs less than mine. I was cutting embarrassing 1.85 60fts.

119 is impressive bro. I never heard about that one. Gosh I wish the track was open here. Fack!

socks 11-23-2010 07:57 PM

no, that was not stock motor.

it was on a 3071r, with a 100 wet shot of nitrous. same setup that dyno'd 433whp/440wtq. my power cable was running along the firewall behind the motor, and even behind a heatshield was getting hot enough for the jacket to melt and start grounding out on the top part of the track. felt like fuel cut, and i was thinking "wtf is this cutting? i dont have any cuts enabled." lol. then i noticed the next run that the car's power was cutting too, DH, and instrument cluster would reset. never really made a big deal about it because in the end, it was just another crappy run.

rodrigo 11-23-2010 07:58 PM

hey...but at least with the genesis you are pretty consistent on those ETs.....

socks 11-23-2010 07:59 PM

consistently SLOW.

nah, it actually does ok.

driver311 11-23-2010 10:40 PM

So 3071r and 100shot and it only dynoed 433whp? Was it at 10psi or something? I think 433whp is doable on stock turbo 100shot. LOL That would be a bottom end destroying setup for sure. LOL Hats off for rolling deep on big turbo and juicin on top of it. I did the same on my srt4. 22psi boost and 125 nx wet shot. Made roughly 450whp 550ftlbs on that setup. Talk about tire frier! Good stuff.

rodrigo 11-23-2010 10:59 PM

to be fair to sean... no one paved the road ahead of him so he drove forward with a blind fold sort of... and that is intimidating and also demoralizing when u encounter bumps and walls along the way......

it really was a shame because I had all faith in him to run the numbers at the track ...but we all have diff priorities....

i also think that there are several guys here that if they actually spent more time on proper set up rather than aimless high dynos they would have broken 11s yet....

its all about that 60.... without it u aint getting anywhere quickly

Hamilton69 11-23-2010 11:18 PM

All I'm saying is you do NOT need slicks, dr's are just fine, if a local civic here can run 580hp and do 6.9 in the 1/8th mile on them, then a high 11 1/4 is doable for a speed3

rodrigo 11-23-2010 11:24 PM

u have zero clue what u are talking about....u aint running no 11s on an ms3 with drag radials until u make shit ton more power than we are even 2 years from making.....

learn the lesson the others didnt... less is more sometimes.... look at how many guys have barely ran the same number 311 did 2 years ago with 100+ hp less.....

drag racing is about putting power down...not dyno... on a rwd car u can get away with drag radials but on this short geared gotta do 15 shifts before i cross the line u aint running no 11s on drag radials....

go give it a try and let us know how u do.....

driver311 11-23-2010 11:54 PM

He will do just like the rest. "Shot down in a blaze of glory" lol teasing. I to think drs would work to run 11s. By drag radials I mean 26x10.5x15 et streets. LOL or 26in hoosier quik time pros or maybe even some 275x40x15 bfg's. LOL 225x45x17s just arent gonna cut it sorry.

the biggest problem is sumed up by lenny. The short gearing makes it soo hard but not impossible. Problem is in the past 3 years many people have tried and not even 1 has done it. LOL how much proof do you need. Even on slicks and stock turbo my speed was spinning my 24.5in m&h slicks all the way through second. The difference is they were pulling me forward at the same time unlike street tires with hard side walls.

rodrigo 11-24-2010 12:01 AM

well let me clarify.... i dont consider the quicktime pros drag radials lol..... shits are slicks with angel hair pasta threads and filo dough sidewalls....

when i say drag radials I mean the fuckers u can drive on the street... nittos, bf gs. etc etc...

but w/e ..... time to move forward and run some times guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Hamilton69 11-24-2010 12:34 AM

Gotcha, thanks for the explaination!

this was before anyone figured out any of the recent load limitations. i ended up taking the nitrous off, putting in dual walbros, and getting tuned by CP-e to make 428whp/380wtq (dynojet) without the spray with blown injector seals. (394whp/400wtq on cpe's mustang dyno before the seals popped.)

driver311 11-24-2010 08:53 PM

428whp on 3071r sounds more like it. I bet that was fun for sure.
