who are the players for the 11s or faster??? Ok guys I want to get the hype going on with the big dogs of the platform!! What are each one of you doing to get the next of our platform?? Bigger turbos? Built motors? More tuning? What will the community see from us on our journey to the unknown?? |

T3 Borg-Warner S259 Extended Tip billet wheel, Steedspeed stock location or topmount manifold, 20+psi on a stock block hoping to break 450whp on an AP and hit the track for some decent times. Should be all together by no later than February/March. Good luck everyone! |
All I need is slicks and a clutch and 11s should be only a matter of practice from that point on in. As for upgrades I have all the parts needed to build my short block done. Next year we should have some fun rivalry. I want to see alot more track slips, dynos cracking big numbers and cars with fun new turbo set ups. I think we are now entering a new era for the MZR!! Lets start having some fun!! |
Well since most of us are on the east coast I was thinking we can get a battle going at MIR sometime in the summer time??? I did this a couple of years ago when laloosh and failrider was around and we had a pretty good turn out of about 10 speeds there!!! Also PANDA YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN THE RUNNINGS!!!!! |

I'm with Gerry... Slicks + Clutch + Practice at the track, and I should be at 11s. I'm planning on building the motor this summer, switching out to a T3 HTA 3076 with a .63 hotside + 30psi. We'll see where that gets me and go from there |

Well i have not posted this because i wanted to go get it on a dyno jet to check the numbers as i was surprised. But this is what i put down last november on cpe dyno... I didnt have my ported intake, no meth, still with CPE's intercooler setup and running 19 psi... I take this dyno with a grain of salt until proven on a dynojet.. This is also untuned as i didnt have a boost controller to up my boost any so i just leaned the afrs down to about 11.8 and ran about 14-15o of timing. i think i was on the dyno for about 30-40 minutes til i gave up because i really wanted more boost.. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...o/P1010035.jpg will be getting back on the dyno sometime soon here and i will have more dyno plots for everyone to look at from both mustang and dynojet.... as well as some video to back it up!!! i plan to get the boost up to about 25-27 psi, i have my intake, meth and Intercooler setup that i wanted.. hopefully before my next track venture... |

I agree with MS3-a(sore)ASS-rex. 360awhp on cpe's dyno is insane. I have two questions, and I'm sorry if they've been answered elsewhere, but... First, are you using the SB to tune, or something else? Second, do you have any comments on the powerband shown there? I'm surprised you couldn't hold power out longer towards redline. You think you'll be able to improve that with tuning, or was boost tapering off, or was the dyno not reading RPM's exactly right...? What's up with that? Either way, fantastic numbers man. |

I was there helping someone install their meth and opportunity struck to see what kind of numbers i was doing not a tuning session. We both about 2 hours to play with. When i got my car on the dyno i tried a couple of times to get the boost up but the true boost was not workng for some reason and i didnt have time to unhook everything and use the standback as boost controller. so by this time my time was running really short so i just wanted to get the AFRs into the 11.5 area because we were going to the track the following day. Hence the reason for the other guy getting his meth installed.. I was having all kinds of other issues when on there as well, one being i was running my BOV VTA.. the reason for this is because i was building a 3.25 intake to go with the big maf i had and i forgot to weld in a recirc tube..Also i found out that my manifold had a slight crack in it. So with this and the boost issue grew fustrated as i knew i was not ready but i was being pressed so i only did about 4-5 runs and mostly to get the afrs a little leaner so i can have a little more power than i did before i go on the dyno. As far as the other end i wasnt really concentrating on it much as my time on the dyno was short and i found myself rushing. So rather not mess anything up i just left it were it was. Went to the track the next day and it showed how bad you need to recirculate your BOV . I did a 13.5@101 with a 2.0 60ft and every gear the car would bucket just like it did at the starting line all the way down the track.. I ran a 12.6 that day but the track was too crowded to make another pass. No vid for this but here is my time slip.. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...s/12627run.jpg So i go back the next week(still nothing changed with the car) and i go faster only made 4 passes that day as well and my best was a 12.3@111 I believe i could have gone 11's that day but i had to leave the track and also the car started acting up on the last two runs so i shut it down for the day... The number could be correct or if not close to correct but again i think that with that number i should have been in the 11's (maybe 11.7s) I was getting close but i done think i would have hit 11.7 that day maybe 11.9 or 12.0.. based on the dyno i think this is why my MPH is low as well i think should be in the 115-117 range... SORRY FOR THE LONG BORING STORY... Hope to follow my signature in the up coming couple of weeks.. |

Well shit... I've been talking to the guys at Spec, and the guy told me that he could hook me up with a clutch that they aren't even selling yet. Supposedly, it's a complete redesign of their old clutches. It'll hold 600 ft-lb tq, so it's more than enough clutch for me. I'm not sure what it's going to retail for, but their "special introductory price is 1100 bucks. I've done some talking and worked some magic, and they're going to give me the clutch + flywheel + everything else I need for much, much less than that. I think that's what I'm going to do. |

I found the reason that MY clutch was slipping was my disc was tooo thin for the flywheel and when the pressure plate was trying to grab it the disc was to far into the concave of the flywheel and thus didn't have the clamping force needed. So if i had sanded down the wall of the flywheel down a few thousandths then i would have had better clamping force on the disc. Is this the problem with all the specs (shrug) but i know there are a lot of people that have had a slipping clutch within the first 1000 miles of installation just like myself!!!! Outside of the broken finger issue that i have heard a couple of people go through the ACT has been a tried and true clutch so far... i have not heard of one slipping yet... |
