If I don't do it, Dustin will do it. If Dustin doesn't do it, Charles will do it. If Charles doesn't do it, Anthony will do it. It's gonna happen. It's just a matter of who does it at this point.

SgtP 02-09-2011 11:25 PM

you guys arent allowed to go to the track until I get back from Afghanistan. Its just not fair!

SIXual Panda 02-10-2011 08:04 AM

You guys are all 6s right? I truely wanna be the first 3. It truely doesnt make sense to compare our cars. They are completely different. The short gearing is a huge benefit for the awd platform and a huge disadvantage for the fwd platform. Thats the reason the srt is such a monster at the track. The tall gearing pairs well with the big torque. With short gearing and big torque its really hard to put the power down. Ill keep my fingers crossed that the hoosiers hold up. I have my doubts.

MS3-a(sore)ASS-rex 02-10-2011 10:55 AM

Driver I don't think anyone elses ms3 is even close to you as far as going for an 11 second pass

Strip your interior and get that beast down to about 2700 and say to hell with the 11's and go 10's!! You should have enough hp and weight to come REALLY close. You just have to put it to the ground!!
With your hp you should get into the 120+ mph easy!!

I would just roll it out the hole and let the HP and weight pull you down there!!! You should be able to get some 1.9-2.0 easy. You know what you can TRY is launching in second gear!!!

Jarods7920 02-10-2011 11:52 AM

I am a 3! I think i have a very good chance of hitting the 11s mark.

jwilkins88 02-10-2011 11:55 AM

Dammit Driver!!!!

I didn't know you were going so soon. I'm a 3, so I'm gonna be shooting for the 11s, but at the end of the month.

I always knew that you'd be the first... deep down, I knew...

Good luck to everybody!

rodrigo 02-10-2011 12:43 PM

ive yet to see anyone come with even 1.8s on a 3.... other than anthony...so 11s gonna be a mighty big task unless u trapping 120+

I think I'll have the power here soon to trap 120+

The end of the month will tell the tale

rodrigo 02-10-2011 12:57 PM

in b4 u guys realize what it takes to get 1.8s ..let alone 1.7s lol on a 3

I know I won't be getting that in my 60'. Trust me, I understand how difficult this is. I was just saying that I'm going to have the power to trap a high speed. That's all.

rodrigo 02-10-2011 01:04 PM

im sure u will. but i doubt anyone with a 3 will turn an 11 without 11.7s and mid and upper teens of trap or 1.8s and 120s traps

but...not like i know shit obviously hahaha

Just cause i cheated and dont need slicks doesnt make me any less of a 3!

rodrigo 02-10-2011 01:16 PM

tell u what ive learned..... BURNOUT BURNOUT BURNOUT. that shit needs to last a while to get proper heat....and then try 4500 launch no slipping just gun it... if u spin...either drop rpm a hair or just do a longer burnout for more heat.

i fried my clutch because i was slipping out of the hole a little bit because i didnt have enough confidence yet that it would grab immediately...so my best were 1.9s on a shitty track.

but i learned a ton...at a price but worth it for me

MINI SPEED6!!!!

rodrigo 02-10-2011 01:22 PM

yeah....basically if u got enough heat in the tires it will work. if you spin too much (u will spin out of the hole regardless or u will bog so its needed) lower rpm launch or increase heat in tires or lower psi on em.

i practically floored it in 1st (just a hair slippage) and didnt spin in first running mbc full psi.....my last pass was at 10.5 psi tires, 4500 launch....shit takes time to learn especially if u are worried about over spinning and screwing up the launch.

we should all be calling anthony for tech support at the track....i do every time im out there lol....... nothing funnier than him saying " god damnit lenny, you are not listening to me!!!! "

Maybe your tire was tooo wide and you were getting TOOO much traction? Or maybe you drug it to much. A little spin is not that bad.. Are you running with full air or something low like 8psi? Maybe is you have a pretty decent size slick then you might want to up the air pressure so that you start to spin a little and then maybe lower it about 1-2 psi after that til you get to that point where you have slight spin but you are moving forward..

Awesome... Alright... I think I got this... I need to practice my burnouts so I don't look like a fag when I go to burn out haha

qtrmile beast 02-10-2011 01:33 PM

What i would do is tighten the hell out of my rear suspension and also raise it so more weight is over the front wheels. This will help big time in the 60ft and also your shift to second would be less spin and more grab!! If you don't have coilovers then get some 18s in the rear and maybe some 17-16s on the front...

spnkr21 02-10-2011 01:33 PM

We should start a thread that gives us fwd guys some tips and pointers. If I lived in a warmer climate I'd be practicing right now.

qtrmile beast 02-10-2011 01:35 PM

You can also tune your boost to come on later in the RPMs so that you have less spin out of the hole...

I do have 18s in the back and 16s in the front. I might need to get coils soon...

My boost controller doesn't allow that, unfortunately... Time to buy a legit boost controller!

Electronic boost controller..

spnkr21 02-10-2011 01:46 PM

Mbc ftw

rodrigo 02-10-2011 01:48 PM

hahahah yeah...mbc kinda makes u grow a set in a hurry. full boost in 1st ftw hahah i wouldnt change it ...fuck ebc lol

qtrmile beast 02-10-2011 01:51 PM

Just trying to help with spinning....

spnkr21 02-10-2011 01:53 PM

Seriously it does take some learning. Especially with a lightweight flywheel believe me :). I think it makes you "one" with the car. I recommend a very thin sole racing shoe :). DC makes a nasty pair...

Combo of many things.

shitty track
inconsistent burnouts
novice at drag racing manuals +fwd
lack of confidence in the track and prep

like i said..every time i go , i knock off 2-3 tenths... so im happy. this time i learned a lesson in avoiding clutch slippage when using slicks for the sake of the clutch and harder launch.

next outing i will improve the 60ft to a mid to high 1.8 ... im sure of it.

driver311 02-10-2011 05:20 PM

A good start would be to actually listen to me next time> and dont slip the clutch at all. 4-5k launch no slip on the gas. That is all for todays lesson. LOL
