Default 2012 SCCA Autox Rulebook

This is the pdf version of the 2012 Scca solo rulebook.

There are three classes that a street driven MS3 would be classed in DS, STX, and DSP.
The MS6 is classed in DS, STX, and ESP.

Stock class (DS) rules are in Section 13.
DS is by far the most competitive class for the MS3 and has a very wide rage of cars. This class is for stock or near-stock cars. The full list of eligible DS cars is on page 170 of the rule book.

ST class (STX) rules are in Section 14.
STX also has a wide variety, from Mini Cooper S and Sentra SE-R on the small end, to Infiniti G35 and sub-5.0L Mustang/Camaro/Firebirds on the large end. This class is between DS and DSP on a scale of preparation, and would be for most cars with typical mild bolt-on modification. The full list of eligible STX cars is on page 182 of the rule book.

SP class (DSP and ESP) rules are in Section 15.
DSP is typically dominated by BMW's, and would take a substantial amount of effort and parts to build a competitive car. The full list of eligible DSP cars is on page 189 of the rule book.

SM class (SM and SMF) rules are in Section 16.
Any major engine modifications would typically put your car in SM or SMF. That would mean built motor or big turbo would place you here. The rules are very open and just about anything is allowed aside from cutting things off of your car

What about SM...? I think Prepared would be too hard of a class considering those are for race cars...

actually the latest fastrack this month said that the proposal to move both the ITR to BS and the MS3 to GS have been removed from the table.

our car has a chance in DSP, problem is nobody has actually approached the class with the mindset to actually create a DSP car rather than race their street car which happens to fall into DSP

What size are those and don't you worry about tire rubbing the fender? Along with all your paint being sand blasted!!!

I read that...but thats only for DS (stock MS3)... DSP remains...

The most recent rules revision: https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules

The MS6 is still in D Street but the MS3 has been lowered to G Street.
Then both move up to the new Street Touring Hatch class.
The MS6 is still E Street Prepared and the MS3 is still in D Street Prepared.
