I'm hoping to make the Track day at least, still up in the air as to if I'll be able to afford to do the whole weekend. No plans to Dyno or drag but would love to come watch those events and meet Nator Royalty. Need to see the dates and if I can split a hotel room with someone. I scored a set of Kumho ecsta V700 70A's for cheap off ebay. Tires are new but have been stored inside for a couple years. Taking a chance on them but for $250 plus $25 gas to pick them up I can't go wrong. These are R compound 50 tread wear rated. Size is 225/50/16 putting them on a set of 14 lb FD wheels. If they last to the end of track day I'll be happy.

Scott, IDK what your experience is tracking, I know you're a good driver from that one time me and you were hitting up the Dragon, but you'd prob be better off running street tires for the track day.

R comps are fun and all, but they'll cover up a lot of the driver's mistakes, if they don't have much track experience. Especially in the braking department, since most beginners have little experience with threshold braking. Street tires are better with finding the limits of the car, and getting more feel for when the car is at its limit.

You'll prob also need a set of dedicated track pads, to keep up with the grip R comps deliver.

If you've tracked on R comps before, ignore all this, and go fast.

Carbotech XP-10 or XP-12 for the front Carbotech Performance Brakes

EBC yellows or OEM Ferodo pads for the rear.

Yellows might be sufficient for the fronts. I plan on running yellows on my MS5, tho I do have a front set of XP-12's I can slap on for track days.

With rcomps, I would lean towards the more aggressive pad. I'm not sure the yellows would be able to keep up with the ridonc grip on a real road course. Purely conjecture, of course, lol.

I don't see why not. Inviting non-forum member speeds to an Epic event is a good way to get them to join the community. As far as the non-speed fools; the more the merrier as long as they don't invite all their EVO/Sti buddies and take over the event that @MATT DAMOND; is working so hard to setup.

You might be fine with HPS in the rear, though, I wouldn't recommend it. HPS pads don't do well at very high temps.

Last year when I went was the first time I ever tracked a car. I was on stock suspension and brakes and the car handled great and was a ton of fun. I bet it will be better this year if we can get more speeds on the track at once. Last year only smurugby12 and I ran together (beginner class). I can't wait till August to go again, count me in.

Holy Fuck, are there too many Nator members? Are we purposely trying to lower the population by sending unsuspecting victims to the Chicago area? Wow, good luck staying alive at this meet. Hopefully the members that do survive make it home with their cars too.

Seriously though hope you guys have a blast. I'll be treking home to Cleveland around this time for my 20yr HS reunion. Maybe I'll see some of you guys on the road between NM and OH. I came up with my ideas for shirts here.

Chicago's not that bad, I'd only been shot at like 14 times. Though, the meet will be taking place in the burbs, far from any illegal activity... apart from us.

You should try and make a pit stop on your way to OH.

Ill def be dragging and jumping on the rollers if I come out. Road racing would be pretty pointless in my car since I'd be spinning through 4th, unless I turned it way down lol.
