Default Clicking noise from front driver's side wheel?

I've been having a strange noise coming from my front driver's side (I believe) wheel. I've searched - I can't find much information on a "Clicking" noise.

1.) It's hard to reproduce, but it seems to be easier to get going when everything is fairly cold.

2.) It occurs more often during a slight left or right turn, but I can also get it to occur when lightly accelerating in 1st or 2nd or letting off the gas in the same manner.

3.) It's one to three "clicks", almost every time. It's nearly IDENTICAL to the clicks you hear when you are tightening lug nuts.

I've checked all my lugs, they seem pretty torqued down, but since the noise has been happening, the wheel has been replaced by hand (no torque wrenches or impact). I always, always torque lug nuts until they click a few times. I've always heard this is a good indication that it's torqued efficiently.

Anyone have any similar experience?

Thank you for the info. Took it to Mazda today, and told them to regrease and retorque the axle nut. They looked at me like I was nuts, but it solved the problem. So far it's been 2 hours, will update if need be.

Services performed: Remove, grease and retorque driver's side front axle nut. 30$.
